SOURCE: Just got a samsung H1080 DVD player playing black and white only

The component connection should have one red, one green, and one blue connector that will connect to the back of your player and the back of your television. Then there should also be another red and a white connector that should run from the AUDIO L & R OUT of your player to the AUDIO L & R IN beside the Component IN connections on your TV. The yellow cord would normally be running from the VIDEO OUT on the back of your player to one of the VIDEO IN connections of your TV.

Make sure you are not using DVD+R dics - the player won't play these. It is OK with DVD-R.

SOURCE: I have purchased a Samsung Series 4 LCD TV.

Most likely ther's something wrong in the settings - this happens when you get a Composite ( yellow)signal in a Component (yellow+ blue+red) connection.
First of all make sure you have selected the correct plugs on both the tv and the dvd - the yellow/video composite + red/right + white/left should be in their own separate box. Then check that the cable is correctly plugged in. Finally check that the tv is set to use the Composite, not Component AV entry.

If you have the original remote for the TV there should be a button that says Input or I Select or something similar. You need to change your "Input" to L1 or L2 or AV, or something similar.

My tv is having gray and white strips going from top to bottom and it does it constantly every few seconds and does it when it's on the DVD player and the regular tv. It is a dynex brand.

Hello,

Remove all externally connected devices so only the TV is plugged in, this includes the cable tv connection or external antenna. If the lines are still there, then it is in the circuitry of the TV. If not, add one item at a time and let the TV run for a while, keep adding connections until the lines show up. If you TV is the culprit you have four options:
1. Check to see if there is a firmware upgrade and install it. Check your owners manual.
2. Contact a TV repair shop and get an estimate - usually close to or as much as a new TV.
3. Live with the lines.
4. Replace the TV with a more reliable brand. This doesn't guarantee you won't have problems, but your chances of having them will greatly diminish. Samsung, Sony and Panasonic come to mind. Dynex, I won't even look at.
That's 21 years as an electronics tech.
Sincerely,
mpkramer

If the item is under warranty return it asp. The problem is in the power supply, the cause is a open capacitor sometimes leaving a bulge at the top.

Hi, I have a Dynex flat screen and I want to play a video. I connected the RCA cables. What do I need to do?

Hi If you have connected the RCA cables corretly, that is, Yellow, Red, and White colured sockets of video source component, may be a VCR, DVD, Blu-Ray etc; to the respective colured sockets to the TV, just switch ON both the devices, insert a video casette, CD or DVD whatever it may be into the source player. Get into the Menu of TV, surf through; and come towards its Input option and select the input you want to get through it. Hilight that option and press enter button on the remote control. When the correct input have been selected you will see the video signals plays through your TV. OK.

Yah i have a dynex tv and a Asus desktop comp and my tv says no signal when i plug it in i dont know what the problem is

Is the dynex tv unit installed inside the ASUS desktop computer?
The TV receiver needs an antenna/aerial connected to the TV receiver to receive TV signals, without it you will get no or weak signal.
Have you connected an antenna/aerial to the Dynex TV unit?

Dynex and Samsung

A common problem with these "all in one units"
When you have a DVD playing it is a digital signal direct to the processor.
When you have an external source ie: TV etc it may be a digital source, but you have to tell the Samsung unit this.
Make sure when it is on the TV setting (Aux) or whatever input you have chosen is in Dolby Digital or similar, Not stereo.
The unit should have a setting for this called sound program or sound setting.

You may need to set up the video card to see the TV so you can display the computer on it.Somewhere in the setting for your video card should be settings for that.
