When you need to tight a bolt or nut to a exact force the manufacturer will give up a value in Nm or in in.lbs this tool you have will help you to tight nuts and bolts to that exact value. adjust it by turning the grip to a value on the scale. block the sqaure in a vice and pull. when you feel it clicks, you have the right torque. have fun.

You can not use that model for the torque you require. A larger capacity torque wrench will be needed.

Why is my 2012 21hp sears 42" lawn tractor blowing smoke

If it is a V twin Kohler engine, you may have a blown head gasket. It is a common issue. Great engine but has this one issue. Kohler has a head gasket kit with improved head bolts. Torque specs are included. You will need a inch pound torque wrench and common hand tools.

How to remove mower blade for dr brush mower

I have 2 of them. You should invest in a torque wrench (maybe $35 or so). The answer is you remove the blades on the DR just the same way as any lawn tractor or gas push mower, for that matter. You need to first "scotch" the blade (use a 2x4 or a special tool you can pick up at Sears). This keeps the blade from turning while you are loosening or tightening it. A torque wrench is very heavy and the shaft of the ratchet is quite long, giving you much more torque than a regular socket wrench- which you may need if the nut has been on for a very long time and/or is rusty. I believe they take a 15/16 socket. You can double check me on the DR website. Once you have it off, and after you sharpen, replace it or whatever you need to do, put it back exactly as it went on and torque it to about 90 lbs. It's a good idea to spray some Liquid Wrench on the threads and nut before and after you remove it. The last thing is to be careful not to cut yourself. Also you really need a manual for these machines. They're beasts, but tricky and fairly sophisticated when it comes to repairs, belts, springs, etc., but you will need to sharpen the blades every season if you use it a lot, so you need to know how to do this. Get that torque wrench! God luck. . .

Where can I buy a "beam" torque wrench. I live on Camiguin Island, Philippines.

Sears online has them, KD tools, and Ridge rock tools, easy to order online. You will have to check with them to make sure they ship to you. You may need to give them a postal zip code. take care and good luck.

Broke the screen on my craftsman torque wrench

It is likely that your wrench was made outside the US soparts may not be available but you might enter your tool number on Sears Partspage to see if it comes up:
