I have a hitachi 53" big screen that is very red in color. All the bulbs are still lit. any idea's?

I just contacted Hitachi and was told that they would not help with even the cost of the defective light engine. A four year old HDTV that cost over $3000.00 is just going into the dump. I am another consumer who will never buy another Hitachi product again.

We call this the "red cloud" and nothing you do to the set will correct the problem. You have a defective light engine. We recently went through this so here's what you need to do. Call Hitachi'sColoring Red - 1.gif customer relations department at 800-654-7013 and tell them that you have a defective light engine. They will act like they've not heard of this but they have. They will give you the names of some certified dealers in your area. Once the tech comes to your home and confirms that it's a bad light engine, call Hitachi back and they will send a new light engine to the dealer. The dealer will call you to set up a day/time to come out and intstall.

Here's the deal, Hitachi will cover this expensive part (cost $1500) but it you're not under warranty, you will have to pay for the install. Our install was $400 but others on this site have paid around $200. Please do not let anyone tell you that you have to pay for this part. Deal directly with Hitachi. They have not recalled this part but they are replacing it for free..brand new and not refurbished. All you pay is the install. Also, deal only with customer relations and not customer service. The 800 # I listed is directly to Hitachi customer relations department. Good Luck!

Red coloring book picture on the vizio!

Sounds like a main board issue--set has a board that controls all info and communication inside the set===faintly possible are also if this is on only part of the screen other boards but main sounds like your problem---All the digital processing for the set including what is on the screen is found there.

It might be helpful to do some research via Google====one place I like to look for info and parts info is shopjimmy.com===if this set by model number is there they will have a list of the boards and prices also----

Also Google the model number with "problems" to see what is out there.

I put the 5fr red velvet hair color in my sisters hair with a red intensifer and its washing out can you tell me why

you need to leave it on longer. Red fades quickly try using joico cuticle seal after coloring . after coloring try to just rinse out color, don't use shampoo spray the cuticle sealer on the hair and don't wash hair for 2 days..it should keep it from fading so quickly.

Coloring is off

there is an internal problem and that will need a tech to get into the set to repair it, most likely having to replace the board that controls the colors

Monitor Coloring

Well most monitors come with 2 preset color temperatures and the option to customize it(the rgb setting). Your monitor has them as well 6500K or 9300K. 6500 is more reddish(like outdoors) and 9300 is more a bluish white(like a tv, i like the 9300 more). How u said its red and bright, what i would do is set the 9300 preset and if its still too red the customize the RGB by lowering the red. and If too bright then Lower the brightness(Press down on BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST page). If you don't have the manual you can download the full manual from LG's download site here: http://www.lge.com/support/manual. If you see that you can't get it just right, then the monitor might need adjustment from inside and you should make a qualified technician open the monitor and adjust that for you. Hope this was helpful.

White Balance

What is White Balance? The human eye captures white as white, red as red and blue as blue, regardless of whether you are outside under the sun or inside under incandescent lighting. Although this is something that we take for granted, the human eye actually adapts to correct the changes in color under different light sources. In reality, when light sources vary, colors caught as the reflection of those light sources also vary. For instance, films for cameras that use film are designed to capture the most appropriate coloring outside under the sun. Thus when you take pictures under incandescent or fluorescent lighting without using a flash, the colors in the resulting picture may seem strange. Digital camera and digital camcorders are equipped with a handy feature called "White Balance" that corrects the changes in color under different light sources, just like the human eye. One of the white balance settings, "Auto White Balance" (AWB) automatically adjusts to correct the changes in color under different light sources. White Balance and Coloring The White Balance feature on Canon digital cameras and camcorders is set to "Auto White Balance" at the time of purchase. If you prefer different coloring, if you want to adjust the coloring more in detail, or if you want to change the coloring on purpose, we recommend that you change the white balance setting.
