Have you checked the fuse panel for blown fuses? If not, check there first. If so, check to be sure all the wiring harnesses in and around the fuse panel are tight ans secure. If you're really in a pinch and you have rear folding seats you can crawl into the trunk that way.

Hello! You will need to remove the rear seat...Remove the lower cushion...Remove the hold down bolts...Remove the top of the rear seat..Remove bolts for top of rear seat...Locate the connector that plugs into the trunk latch...With connector in-place, insert the point of a safety pin into the Tan/White wire and tap +12 volts on that pin...Trunk will open..........

there is a little finger in the latch that closes when the trunk is closed chances are that the little finger has closed but the trunk is still open... this can be fixed by looking at the latch on the lid you will see a slot with a metal arm in the middle take a screw driver and place it in the hole in the slot at the top. press the button on the fob to open the trunk while your pulling down on the screw driver the little latch should twist letting the screw driver move through the track and pop out now alowing you to close the trunk and being happy again.

The trunk when released makes an extended noise that is hard to describe, and it must be slammed several times in order for it to latch. On top of all this when it is latched I get a message that the...

One or both support struts may be defective. Disconnect them both from the trunk lid and lay the ends down into the trunk. You will need to support the trunk lid while doing this and the lid will be quite heavier. Now close the lid to latch. Did it latch first attempt? Check for the dash message. If all appears well, replace both struts.

I have a 2002 chevy cavelier, i used the button on the dash to open the trunk, now the trunk will not latch when i close it.

Try pushing the button under the dash back into its normal 'unactivated' position, and see if the trunk will latch shut. It could be a sticky latch mechanism in the trunk, which some silicone lubricant or WD40 might help to free up. Check also that the latch has not actually returned to the 'locked' position prior to trying to close the trunk. That would definitely stop you from closing the trunk properly! Try unlocking the trunk latching mechanism again.

1996 Saab 900 S Convertable Will not open/close

there are a few reasons that this might be happening but first i would check the compartment where the top is store when down. There are sensors that tell the car if the compartment is ready for use and if the compartment is being obstrcuted you would get that code. email me at Monster50s@yahoo.com if this does not work I may be abloe to help you futher.

The problem is that your roof(SOFT TOP) lid isnt closing properly. If you open the roof lid you see there is a button on one of the latches that tells the car that the roof is securely closed if your roof lid is not secure the trunk wont open. To test this press down on the roof lid and the try to open the trunk.
