How do use tomtom

TomTom's GPS devices provide consumers with portable navigation solutions. Download maps, view turn by turn updates and listen to spoken directions on trips across town or across the country. TomTom has a variety of GPS products, but basic use and inputting destination information are almost identical across the board. If you're just taking your TomTom out of the box, you'll need to perform a few extra steps to complete set up. I am listing the 7 steps to use TomTom below;

1. Ensure your TomTom unit is fully charged. A full charge requires approximately two hours. Power the unit by pressing and holding the "On/Off" button for approximately two seconds. Make sure you are in an unobstructed area. Wait for the Tom Tom to power up and acquire a satellite signal.

2. Answer the on-screen questions to set up your device. The questions only appear if this is the first time you've used your Tom Tom. Otherwise, the driving view and your current location will be displayed.

3. Tap the center of the screen to open the main menu. Tap "Navigate To" and then tap "Address."

4. Choose the option that describes how you wish to enter the address you are navigating to. You may tap "City Center," "Street and House Number," "Zip Code" or "Cross Street or Intersection." To enter an exact address, choose the "Street and House Number" option.

5. Type in the requested information by tapping the letters or numbers on the screen. As you type, matching town and street names will appear in a list format. Choose the correct option from the list when it is displayed by tapping it. If prompted, enter the house number by tapping the corresponding numbers on the screen. When you are finished, tap "Done".

6. Select "Yes" or "No" when asked if you need to arrive at a particular time. If "Yes" is chosen, follow the instructions to enter in the desired arrival time.
Step
Finally, follow the on screen and spoken directions to reach your destination.

No streets for morningside

By 'no streets' I am assuming you are refering to the 'Navigate to'
When asked to input town/city, don't enter morningside, enter Edinburgh and verify your destination with street name and postcode displayed

I've had a Magellan Maestro 3225 for about a year or so (bought new from Costco). Over the past several months, when I turn the unit on and program a destination, the unit still seems to think it is in the...

There are two batteries inside the unit. One is the main power and the other is a small coin cell usually a BR2032 worth maybe ~$1 When this small battery goes the unit gets somewhat senile and forgets where it is. So it has to download all of the sattelite data and figure it out which can take up to an hour. The small battery is used to keep the memory and setting alive.

Your problem is finding a shop to replace it or sending it into Magellan. If you go to Magellans website and call your local support number they can give you the cost for them to do it. They also have a refurishment program where you pay a set fee and they send you a new or refurbished unit.

What kind of oil should i use for a 2004 Chrysler town and country?

Driving conditions / oil

(Note all oils are NON-DETERGENT)

City hot / SAE 20W - 50
City warm / SAE 10W - 40
City cold / SAE 5 -30 or 5W-40

Rural hot / SAE 20W - 50
Rural warm / SAE 10W - 40
Rural cold / SAE 5W - 30

Brand does not really matter as the SAE designation makes them all the same other than a few manufacturer specific additives i.e Techron ect.

I bought Garmin nuvi 765T after having Viamichelin navigator in my car fo some years. . In the old GPS I could navigate to "city center" which was quite useful, when you travel and want to visit a place...

Check in the settings/setup options to enable all the POIs (Point of Interests) and then check if you can find the "city centers" If not then maybe the maps of this GPS device does not have this POI.

Want to customer program a destination

What if you map out your destination across southern Nevada by city then north to Minnesota. Create one, two or several city destinations in the GPS favorites. As you get to each city you will hafta put in the next city. Unlike mapquest you can't add another city (destination)and unlike yahoomaps.com you cant slide the route to change it. does this help? tinkr

My unit won't let me type in the city of Depere, WI

you may need to update the map on your unit.
First I would try this
It should have recognized where you are when turned on.
go back to the store or any store and see if the same unit in that store recognises the location, if yes yours is defective, exchange.
If no ( must be a really small rural town) check the manufacturer wesite to update the map for your town.

I live in Canada Quebec near Ottawa, purchased nuvi 200W, it picked up my location and found surrounding towns etc, but when I search for example a train station it keeps defaulting to NewYork ?

Canada does not come pre loaded on those units. The update disc will not add it on either. What you need is the Pre-programed City navigator chip for Canada. Normally retails around $59.99 US

How to program a destination

In general, once you key in an address and then select a route, the name/route will be saved in "recent destinations." If you want to use that destination, just select it. If you want to add it to "Favorites", then select "Add Favorite" and all your recent destinations will appear. Select the one you want and rename it: E.g., instead of "220 W. Walnut St." rename it "Grandma's House" and it is set.
