Burning and playing the product

Hi
I have made videos using samsung 8.1mb pixels. After saving them on the hard drive i then proceeded to burn using various discs. I have tried different speeds for burning and different manufacturers. After burning I have found that the burned product only plays on my own lap top ie the one with nero which I use for burning. What is the difference between nero burning real play burning, windows burning and any other? Also does it matter about about speed and wr/r and write only?

See the burning rights that nero has set in your windows... it might be due to unupdated burning rights... try updating your nero using nero productsetup tool...

Samsung r530 wont boot up

Unfortunately, in my past experience this particular model it seems to have a very bad habit of hard drive failure on a regular basis. The particular samsung hard drives used in it are horrible and so is samsung support. You don't say weather or not you can boot from the CD/DVD drive with a live cd in it, but you should try getting one and trying it out.

Get a copy of Hiren's boot cd from here:
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/files/Hirens.BootCD.15.1.zip

Extract the iso and burn it to a CD, then put the CD in your CD/DVD drive and boot from it. Use some of the Hard Drive 'diagnostics on the CD to determine if the Hard Drive is Dead Like I think it probably is. Then Contact Samsung support from this page:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP-R530-JA02US

Keep after them until they address the problem to your satisfaction. This is a VERY common problem with this particular model so give them an earful!

Easy way to burn WMV video to DVD and play on a DVD player

One of the most popular video formats used with computers and found on the web is WMV. WMV is wide compatibility with Windows PCs. it short for Windows Media Video. And it is the name of the video encoder that was created by software giant Microsoft. The advantage of WMV is that Good compression and quality. WMV movies are played with third party media player programs such as "Windows Media Player, "RealPlayer" and "VLC player". A lot of people saved WMV clips onto compute and want to make WMV to DVD for playback on a DVD player watch videos on TV screen.

DVD ( Digital Video Disc ) is an optical data storage device which can hold large capacities of digital data like high quality video and movies. A VOB ( DVD Video Object or Versioned Object Base ) file is a container format for DVD video files. An explanation of VOB files is beyond the scope of this article, but a study of the software part of the DVD format is essentially a study of the VOB container file format. With CD’s or Compact Disc’s becoming virtually obsolete with the emergence of high capacity storage HD DVD’s and Blueray disc’s, more and more video editing tools are geared to conversion between these two highly popular media formats, WMV to DVD.

How to convert WMV file to DVD?
Before we go to detail steps, there are some Pre Requirements: A blank DVD disk (DVD +R, DVD-R, DVD+RW or DVD-RW), rewritable DVD-ROM, A WMV to DVD Converter. How to burn a dvd from an acer laptop

The laptop should have come with CD/DVD burning software preloaded. Acer's specs page for your model says it comes with NTI Media Maker. The program will have help information available to guide you through, and you can find more help online. If you just want to write data files onto a DVD, the process typically is not much more than dragging files to a layout window and telling the program to burn the disc. This gives you a way to back up data, or to store movies in formats you can view on a computer (AVI, MPG, etc.).

On the other hand, if you're asking how to make a video DVD that will play in a regular DVD player like a commercial movie, maybe with features like menus or scene selection and such, the process for making that kind of DVD is more involved. You need some DVD authoring software. NTI may offer that capability, but I'll admit I have never looked.

In most cases, the software that comes preloaded on computers is a limited version of some commercial product. The computer manufacturers get paid to include the program, and the software company hopes you'll buy the full version when you discover the limitations. If you don't want to pay for software, there are free, more full-featured programs available for downloading.

For general CD and DVD burning, I use CDBurnerXP. To make video DVDs, I use a program called DVDStyler. Both are open-source, meaning they are 100% free to download and use, and they both offer a lot of features.

We have VCR tapes with videos on it we would like to convert them to DVD or CD- how should we do it

I hope that you have plenty of time on your hands. If you do, then you will need a video capture card or tv-tuner USB dongle. Most large computer stores carry a variety of choices. Hook the line-out of the VCR to the TV-tuner or video capture card and use the digital video recording software that came with it to record your video to your hard disk. From here you can edit it with a video editing program and burn the finished product to your DVD or you can burn the raw files to the DVD.

Hi. I have a toshiba equium l20-198 laptop dvd burning problems

there could be 4 things that's wrong that I can think of.

1. try this first, go and force xp to take your updated drivers by telling it to install from a specific location->don't search. I will choose the driver to install->have disk->have disk->point it to the driver's location-> continue and it should install that specific driver.
2. the software you're using to burn with isn't playing nicely with your drive. try using cdburnerxp which is a free burning software and test the results of those burns.
3. the firmware on your drive is corrupted(happens from time to time). try installing a new firmware from matshita's website. remember, firmware is different from drivers.
4. the dvd drive itself is busted. try using an external drive to burn a dvd(if you have one available) or switch the drive out and see if that fixes things.

after looking at some forums, seems like this drive is ripe with issues but hopefully it's not a hardware issue in your case.

hope that helps.

Video stream is jumpy .Download and burn movies that freeze up

How much free hard drive space and memory is in the laptop? Are you running anything else while the burn occurs? Have you tried a slower burn speed? DVDs hold more than 4 gigs of data. In addition to burning the video to the disk, the files are being encoded. There is really no practical way to speed this up. Make sure youre not running any memory intensive programs during the burn. 256 megs of memory is feasible, 512 megs or more would be better. Hard drive space--you must have free space on your drive at least double the size of the files youre burning.
