Question about Toto Round Maple SoftClose Toilet Seat With Lifekoat Polished Brass Hinges

1 Answer

I can't figure out how to loosen the hardware so that I can reseat the rubber gasket-like insert that I assume supports the softclose feature. The access to the top hardware, behind the seat, is capped with a fragile chrome piece that has a tiny cutout that looks like it might be intended for a tool to remove the cap. The underside is the screw with a rubber "nut" apparatus that is previously unfamiliar to me. I'll pay 1299 to get an answer on this one.

That worked. Actually there are two caps without hinges. I have reassembled and remounted and it looks and functions fine for now.

I have just noticed that the hinges are not identical. The hinge on the right has a wider center component, that which is attached to the cover, than the one on the left. It is the left side where the assembly rotated open and exposed the entire gray sleeve and caused the seat to wobble. When tightening, it has a tendency to open because of the clockwise screw motion. I have it as tight as I can make it. We'll see if it works its way open now.

Thanks. I didn't want to break something trying to fix this.

Hello. The top hardware behind the seat does open. like a little door on a plastic hinge. Inside you will find a large head screw. Use a small flat blade screw driver to pry up the cap and then a large flat blade screwdriver to tighten the plastic screw. Repeat with the other side.

I need to know which water lines go to and from pump on bissellporheat steam cleaner? mod.#1699R

The plastic screw-on cap for the fresh water/solution tank has a tiny internal spring loaded plunger that looks like an "X" when viewed from the end. There is a donut type rubber gasket that goes on the end of this screw-on cap. I had reseated this donut gasket but the rim interferred with the plunger so it discharged when I pressed the tank into position. When I got the donut gasket reseated properly, leaking was solved.

The Toto maple softclose round front toilet seat bangs against the back of the toilet upon rising from seat.

Try buying some cheap foam tape and place some on both the cover and the seat. Any hardware store should have it. Something similar to this:

How to put an exhaust donut gasket in

Remove the body harness for the exhaust closet to the dounut. this should give you enoun slack to move the pipe. Assuming your clamp bolts will loosen. Loosen bolts on the doughnuts clamp. remove the clamp. Then pry the tail pipe away from the manifold and remove the old dougnut gasket. Spray it down with WD-40 and wire brush it clean. Insert new dougnut gasket and tighten new clamps down around it.

If the bolts on the clamps are rusted to bladly to loosen then cut off with a reciprcating saw or a hi speed cutting disc. Just becareful not to cut into the exhaust pipe or yourself.

Water leaks past the water pump filter gasket reseating the filter does not stop the leaking lg tromm Front Loading Washer

I regularly clean my filter of slime and debris (after not even realizing this needed to be done and having my pump give out of me). TWICE I have awoken to a flooded basement due to leaks in the filter area:

The first time, the plastic stopper was not in the small rubber drain hose properly and had popped off.

The second time, I had cleaned the gasket, inserted it tightly like I always do, and awoke to another flood! I thought perhaps the rubber gasket on the filter was on wrong, but it was fine. I inserted it tightly several times and water still poured out! It turns out there was a small stone lodged in the thread of the receiving end of the filter causing there to be a bad seal. Lesson learned. Another $2000.00 worth of flooring ruined.

LOOSING OIL FROM FILTER THAT WILL SWELL UP WITHIN A VERY FEW SECONDS CAUSING COMPLET LOSS OF OIL AND WILL AUTOMATIC LOOSEN THE FILTER SO IT WILL COME OFF WITH A LIGHT TURN TO REMOVE IT

I had a problem kinda like yours once. It took me a while to figure out why but finally found that from a previous oil change the rubber gasket from the old oil filter had come off and stuck to the car so when I would put a new oil filter on that has a new gasket I was ending up with 2 rubber gaskets on at once.

Rubber gasket displaced

This gasket is made of a firm but pliable material and is there to prevent small items from falling into the frame of the dryer. ( small clothing items and coins, etc.) If in good condition, it should be easy to push the drum gasket back onto the drum edge. May be possible just by opening the door and re inserting the gasket, or at the most loosening the front pane to get enough room. I once replaced a drum belt in 15 minutes flat and that required taking the top and front off. What you want to do is a lot less work.

How do you get the back off a men's armitron watch to change the battery? Took it to Walmart and they can't figure it out.

If you don't have a watch repair kit, a small flathead screwdriver or even a butter knife would work. Set the watch face down on a soft material (pillow/towel). Insert the flat tool in the gap between the back and the watch itself. Apply a bit a of pressure the loosen and remove the back. Remove the rubber gasket covering the battery. Then you will want to remove the clip covering the battery (with the flat tool). Once the clip is removed flip it upside down and let the battery fall out

The drain float seems to be stuck. Move it up and down , sometimes this helps loosen it to allow it to close.
