Why would you even think of replacing a 2 yr furnace ? 2ppm of CO IS NOT CRITICAL BUT AT A WARNING STAGE. Where did you take this reading, art the chimney outside, at the hot air discharge, or just next to the heater ? Most 2 yr old heates do not have burner jet air mix adjustments as did older heaters so maybe you cannot adjust anything. But there could be a chimney restriction, or an air intake restriction. You need to give more detail.. Ist of all, what made you take a reading and again how did you know how and where to sample the reading ?When you give more of the story, then maybe we can give you more of an answer. We' be waiting.

4 beeps with pauses for 2 year old carbon monoxide detector

I'm pretty sure that indicates an alarm. The pattern is referred to as "temporal 4" which is the alarm pattern for CO. Either your device is in a bad place or there is an intermittent CO leak which is exceeding the ppm (parts per million) threshold for a given time period. The instructions for the device will tell you what that number is. If you have more than one of these, I would try swapping them to determine if the problen is with the device or the location. Good luck!

What's the definition of co ppm

"CO" is the abbreviation for Carbon Monoxide. It is an odorless, colorless, toxic gas that exists in automobile exhaust. "PPM" is the abbreviation for "parts per million". PPM is a standard used to measure gases, including CO. The EPA sets regulatory standards for how much CO may be emitted from automobiles. States have emissions testing programs to ensure these standards are met. If the CO in the exhaust of an automobile exceed the EPA's standards in PPM, then the vehicle will fail the emissions test and the vehicle must be serviced and made to meet the standard.

Furnace is 5+ years old (warranty ends 5 years) and heat exchanger is cracked, need new furnace as its emitting CO!!!!

Well yes and no. Let me explain, you can buy a replacement heat exchanger, or possibly get in touch with the manufacturer and customer service. Express your discontent nicely about the product and warranty and they just may send you an exchanger. I have been successful doing this with a high end television. Weigh the expense of replacement exchanger verses replacing entire furnace, then go with the best option. Sorry to hear about your luck it just does not seem right that at five years this should happen.

I have a gas furnace, (horizontal flow). Two years old. Bryant vented with PCV. I'm getting C02 at 50 ppm in my house. My exhaust vent is straight out. Just wondering if it needs a 90 elbow on it? ...

Hello The vent has a pressure switch that would shut it down if there was any wind/exaust issue. Can you test the exhaust itself for CO?The unit is probably near zero PPM there.Meaning a cracked heat exchanger (highly unlikely @ 2 yrs old) could NOT be the source of CO.A 90*elbow is considered a additional restriction and not needed.Do you have a stove, clothes dryer fireplace or grille/bbq pool heater that is running?

My AC unit wont blow the cold air.

if the ac outside is working, but not the furnace, means there is a control problem with the furnace, check wires in the furnace, make sure there is a blower wire plugged into the contact marked cool on the control panel of the furnace

Ducane high efficiency propane furnace, pressure switch problem

A short cycle heat cycle indicat a pressure switch replacement was needed. This did not fix the problem. the problem was in PCV line since the end was filled with slugs and cause the line to backup with water. When this happen the system would stop asking for gas. the water would leak out and it would restart. The problem was fixed by cleaning value at end of PCV. This released the water, two quart of water, that was back up causing problem. Curious if a filter change indicator was providing a clue that was missed?
