Question about Maytag Refrigerators
We have had our Maytag Fridge for 2 1/2 years and never had a problem with the water dispensing (it is an inside water spout - left handside). We finally replaced our water filter -didn't use it a great deal - but at least to get a glass of water daily and now the water won't come out? The ice machine is still dispensing and we have taken off the filter and reattached it just to make sure it was not the problem

If you can't hear the solenoid on the water
inlet valve(it's on the back where the water supply hooks up) when you try the
water then the water switch on the dispenser is at fault.
If you do hear it Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line at the bottom before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does, leave the door open till it thaws.
If it doesn't come out there disconnect it at the water inlet valve and see if it comes out there. The valve could be bad.

After you installed the filter did you bleed the air out of the water line though the dispenser? If not, then hold a glass under the dispenser and push for water and give it time to fill up the water tank and the filter before it starts to come out. This may take a few minutes. If it still doesn't work, then you may have a frozen line and the easiest fix would be to defrost the refrigerator so that it can thaw out and hopefully fix the problem.

If the filter is clogged and you are not able to immediately replace it, leave the filter out so the water system is in bypass mode. With the filter removed, the water system will continue to operate, bypassing the filter, and the clogged filter will not cause slow water dispensing. However, in order to have filtered water, you will need to install a new filter.
