First, find the valet switch. It is a push button usually located int he drivers kick panek( where your left foot would rest when driving) after loacting said switch, turn the ignition on , press and release the switch to manually override the alarm Press anf hold for approx. 5 seconds to put the unti in valet.

Lost remote car alarm

speak nicely to honda dealer and see if the remote fob was recorded whenthe car was new.
The dealer may have software to get the info from your car, or, possibly phone an Auto locksmith ... they should be able to supply you with a new fob (prob who the dealer use anyway).
Do not try to by pass the immobiliser system....its doing its job!
Cheers

Have a 1998 xj8 car drives no probs opens no probs with key but after a recent batery disconnect will not open the car with remote

Since you lost power your "fob" and receiver may not be communicating any more.

This is a process to for your fob to re-sync with your car.

Note : All transmitters being serviced must be available. If the learning process is carried out without having all the transmitters present, all previous transmitter codes will be overwritten, rendering the missing transmitters inoperable.

Hold headlight flasher back.

Turn ignition key to position 1.

Flash headlights 4 times.

Alarm will enter programming mode.

This will be confirmed by "beeps" from the alarm and flashing led on gearshift.

Program each transmitter (up to 5) by pressing the lock or unlock button on each transmitter once.

The alarm will "honk" when you press the transmitter button.

The alarm must honk 5 times to complete the programming. Therefore, if you are only programming one transmitter you should operate the transmitter 5 times.

If you are programming two transmitters you will operate one transmitter twice, and three times on the other.

For five transmitters you will operate each transmitter once.

Good Luck!

Alarm set problem

Car alarms are common accessories on vehicles around the world, and often take advantage of keyless remote capabilities. These systems have a transmitter installed into your car, and you can then sync your remotes to the transmitter in just minutes. If your remote is not working, it is usually the fault of the battery. You can easily replace the battery and reset the programming sequence to be sure that the signal has not been lost, and have your remote ready to use in just minutes.

My alarm system went off due to wrong key ingnition...had to take a battery terminal off to stop the alarm, now I have the key and it wont start...is there a security reset?

Yes there is. 1. Press (LOCK) button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resynchronize transmitter. Attempt to function transmitter, if working as designed discontinue programming. 2. Turn ignition to run position. (Allow ignition chimes to stop).
3. Using any original (working) transmitter, press the [UNLOCK] button for 4 to 10 seconds.
4. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue pressing the [UNLOCK] button and press the [PANIC] button for 1 second and release both buttons (AN/DN release either button first). A chime will sound to indicate that the transmitter programming mode has been entered (allow 3 seconds for chime to sound).
5. Press [LOCK] and [UNLOCK] buttons simultaneously for 1 second and release (a short chime will sound for AN/DN).
6. Press and release any button on the same transmitter and a chime will sound after successfully programming the transmitter (locks will cycle for AN/DN).

Just replaced the battery and it tripped the alarm. finally got it shut off and now it just clicks when I try to start it.

If the vehicle has a 'Factory' alarm system, try cycling the jkey in the ignition ON-OFF (not to start), 5 times. This will defeat the factory alarm. This method is used in case the remote trasmitter battery goes dead, or the transmitter is lost.

This only works on Toyota Factory security systems, however.

I cannot disarm my alarm system so I cannot start my van what can be the problem?

It sounds like your transmitter on your remote is not functioning. You may just need to replace the battery in your remote! Some times unlocking the doors w/your keys will disarms the alarm system. Thats why i had to do when i lost my remote. See if that helps!
