Do not have to replace the spring. The solenoid takes care of all that with the GE fridges.

No water/ice dispensing

I would make sure all the doors are completely closed. If you can't completely close one of your freezer doors, you may have ice built up behind it. Take your freezer bin out and see if you have to defrost.

Ice will not dispence thru door.

Without knowing the brand and model # I can offer the most common solution.

On most "pass the ice through the door" models there is a flapper door where the ice dispenses. The spring which holds this door closed when you are not dispensing ice becomes weak allowing the flap to stay open jsut a bit. This open space will create an ice dam in teh dispenser thus not allowing the ice to dispense. The repair is generally made by replacing the flap assembly.

All the best.

ICE DOOR WILL NOT LET ICE FALL DOWN CHUTE,

the ice door has a solenoid that opens and closes the ice door. since you were able to replae the door i assume you can take it apart pull it back apart and the crank the door attaches too is connected on 1 side to an electrical soleiod test if the plunger moves up and down freely. also look for heat deformation around the plastic as well. if it turns out the solenoid is bad i would also recomend replacing the the fountain boards as well. I dont think you can put to much tension on the spring..

Ice dispenser flap/door will not close properly

I have a similar problem. The repair guy took a look at it and stated everything is working and did not order any solenoid or any other parts. After he left the problem returned where ice comes down the chute it tends to lodge and keep the door open. I am disagreement with the repair guy and am leaning toward the idea that the spring has lost tension and is just too weak to close with any authority. There is a video on how to replace the spring on youtube. This is what I will be doing next weekend and will try to return to post results.

GE Icemaker flap door won't open causes ice jam in chute

There is an electric solenoid that opens the door. If you look up inside the dispenser you can see the solenoid. Either the solenoid is bad or the dispenser module that puts power to it is out. You will need to remove dispenser front and check for voltage to solenoid. If you have power from module, replace solenoid, if no power, replace both parts. It is common for solenoid to short out and damage the module so that both must be replaced. If solenoid is shorted and you replace module, new part will fry.

Ge gss25jemc ice in door keeps freezzing up

Flapper door diagram is here, you can see how the spring, etc. work to hold the door closed. http://www.partselect.com/Schematics/GE/00113173i04.gif As for the crushed ice, (item 384) on the next diagram shows the little lever that lifts the side rod on the bin (item 329) to decide if cubes or crushed comes out. The solenoid (item 383) can get frozen up and not move. Take a look where screw (item 371) is, that little square window is where the device that lifts the rod is. Take a hair dryer and heat that area REAL good to melt the frozen solenoid mechanism. Test it every now and then by holding the door light switch off and pressing the cubed selection & lever. You should hear a very loud "clank" as the solenoid pull in to lift the rod on the bin.

No water, no ice, no light

No fuses sorry (I wish there were). Read the owners manual and see if you can run without a filter, some models auto bypass with the filter removed. Soooo.. for water you need the main solenoid valve to work, the water dispenor solenoid valve to work, the lines open & not kinked, etc., and the door switches to make contact, etc. If you can take the line apart right under the left side (near the floor) that goes up inside the door (should be a quick connect fitting there) try disconnecting it and press the water dispensor again. If ya get water there, you know the issue is in the door tubing. If you get nothing, can you hear the solenoid clicking when you press the lever? If no solenoid noise the fountain control board may be bad (or stuck in lock mode...). Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.
