Question about Dishwashers

Bit of plastic stuck in the drain is making a horrible noise.

Little bit of plastic broke off of one of my daughter's toys that we tried to wash and now it's making a horrible noise during the wash cycle. Tried to feel around the bottom for it but without luck. Where is the drain and how to you get to it? Amana ADB1500AWB Dishwasher. Thanks for your help!

On this particular model you have to go thru the top section of the pump. Remove spray are and using torx crew driver remove all the upper section to get to the piece of plastic. Don't worry you can do this and not cause any leaks.

The washing machine wont drain its water

It could be a clogged filter, a belt that broke, or a bad pump or motor. There could be a bad relay, switch or controller that sends a signal to the motor. The model number might narrow the cause, but unless you are a do-it-yourselfer, you may want to call a repairman.

Makes a horrible noise when it is draining

Either something stuck in the pump or the pump bearings need lubricating. It is easy to remove buy tipping the machine back at 45 degrees, the pump is under right front and is removed by turning anticlockwise.

My washing machine is making a metallic grating noise on the wash cycle although not all the time. It has also stated to make a louder version of the noise when spinning

Alot of times the underwire of womens bras comes out in the wash cycle and gets stuck in on of the holes of the tub and starts to make the horrible racket. Look in the machine with a flashlight to see if you can spot the culprit. Usually not to hard to spot. I would find it before it gets into the water pump and starts breaking things that are costly to repair.

Kenmore Washing Machine won't agitate, spin, or drain

The problem sounds like the motor to transmission coupler. If it is not draining or spinning you may find that the lid switch is inop.
