Question about GE Spacemaker Washer and Dryer Electric Laundry Center

1 Answer

Dryer keeps turning off mid cycle. Fuse is OK.

Dryer keeps turning off mid cycle. Will turn it off, turn the breaker on and off, and then will restart. However, it will only last for a few minutes. The problem doesn't happen all the time. Just every few cycles.

Maytag prestige dryer quit mid cycle no power

Your unit has a thermal fuse on it, that blows when it gets to hot. BUT that is an indication that something else is wrong. A blown thermal fuse would cause your symptoms.

2year old ge dryer trips breaker when it's turned on, but sometimes will run a complete cycle before it shuts off.

HELLO THERE
Electric dryers require the use of a 220 volt line. The dryer heating elements run off of 220 volts. An excessive draw of electricity, or a short in the wiring can blow a fuse or trip a breaker. This happens to protect sensitive components from damage, and to help prevent fires. Every other dryer component operates off of 110 volts, the timer, motor, etc. Usually when a fuse blows or a circuit trips, it's because there's to much draw on the power line.
It is very possible for one part of your dryer to work fine, and yet another to have a problem, such as a short circuit. A short circuit may be caused by the heating element, internal wiring, or the main power cord.
To troubleshoot this problem, unplug the dryer and check to see if the circuit breaker or fuse remains on when the dryer is unplugged. If they stay on, it's more than likely the problem is somewhere in the dryer.
If your fuse blows, or the circuit breaker trips when the dryer is unplugged, it's likely the problem is with the circuit breaker, fuse box, or house wiring; contact a professional electrician.

OK I hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

220 dryer intermittently tech says dryer ok electritien says wiring 2 dryer ok and breaker ok

This sounds as if the door switch is weak or the actuator is damaged and turning off the dryer before the cycle is complete. Make sure your dryer door closes and latches properly. If it quits mid cycle again press on the door and then press start...DO NOT open the door until you try this. If pressing on the door and pushing start gets a cycle start then I suspect you have a door switch problem. However,,,,, a dirty / cl;ogged vent or an air blockage some where in the vent / dryer air flow ducting can give you intermittent operation also. Make sure you check the outside flapper valve where the vent exits outside the house also. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Won't turn on, stopped mid cycle

Do you have power to the unit? Possibly the breaker tripped, if not. Check your breaker panel and locate the switch for the dryer. switch it off, then back on again... try your dryer.
Good luck!

Crosley Electric dryer stopped in mid cycle and will not start

if the machine is completly dead an not doing anything locate your fuse panel ,check your fuses for the dryer ,if you can find wich one is it reset the breakers again you probably popped one of the 2 lines since you need 2 for a 220v.

good luck!

Dryer does not start - Thermal Fuse is ok.

Good to know, when the appliance does not start at all is always thermal fuse, wiring, door lock switch, or rarely the control assembly.

Have a nice day.

Your dryer doesnt have a fuse. Your home breaker panel is the only protection it has..Check your circuit breaker box for a tripped breaker.
