I purchased my Lyra MC5102A in December 2007. recently it has been freezing up. I used a toothpick to reset the player and ever since it has not been about to reboot, showing me an messaging saying profiling requires 1MB free space then shuts down. I've tried every possible thing to solve the problem with no luck .... can anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

i would prob try redownloading the music. but i have a question idk if its the same way but i downloaded some nirvana a while ago and now it doesnt play also i really need 2 know how to delete songs off my rca lyra rd2765a so plz if u know any thing email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
This is most likely caused by the Lyra being nearly full.
First try deleting content to free up 15MB of disk space. Then profile the device contents.
If that's not successful, connect the USB cable to the device while pressing the enter button (Play/Pause). Continue to hold the button in until your PC recognizes the device. This will connect the player as a mass storage device with a drive letter in Windows Explorer.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the drive letter assigned to the Lyra and locate the Lyra_Sys folder. Within that folder you should find the local.lrd file. This contains the information from profiling.
Delete the local.lrd file, then safely disconnect the player from the PC.
Had same issue with mine, right out of the box! I called support, they sent me to some 3rd party support company... That place told me to return to vendor. Thompson Support. They basically just tried going to the RCA website, found nothing there, and finished up with return to store...
connect lyra to computer
go to my computer on your start menu
lyra will show up on other devices or portable devices
double click on the lyra icon
this will bring up another lyra icon right click on that
go down to the option format and select that
you will lose all of your music
solved my problem two hours after it started
