First unplugged the polycom in the teephone outlet and try to connect a digital or analog phone to the telephone line. If there is still some noise, the telephone line is the problem. but when the line is clear and you can hear the other party clearly, check some loose connections in the Polycom provided telephone cable. Or try cleaning with alchohol first the telephone connectors. Dont forget to unplug the power adapter first before you start fixing the cable.

1-change telephone cable from your machine to wall outlet if the problem fixed it is ok,if not you must contact your phone company because noise may be in telephone line itself.

Polycom soundstation 2 does not have a dial tone

That Polycom runs off of Analog dial tone.
Either a dedicated line or in most cases from an ATA off the phone system.
You should be calling your vendor/tech in that handles the phone system to check programming, cabel, jack and the Polycom itself too.

You need to update the software on the device. I called their support line and the tech explained everything. This has been a common problem with this conference phone.

This is the second phone and always being asked to speak up. mic diagnostics show that even when you yell the bar does not max out.

Try to increace volume over the phone settings itself. If its already max, then just replace the mic and that's it.

If you need more detail, just let me know.

Best of luck

Static from SoundStation Premier

Check the phone cable you are using for your POTS line. Attach a phone directly to the phone jack and see if it is clear or static without the device.

hi,

go to menu, then admin setup, then diagnostics, you can adjust the mic levels in there, they are 50% by default.

The older Polycom SoundStations have power supplies that allow either anaog or digital signals. The phones themselves will work on either.

If your office phone systems are different, or if the extension it was originally plugged into was configured for analog and you are now plugging into digital would explain the problem.
