Most models have two screws on the back then you just pull it off. Some will have a small cap you just pry off about the size of a half dollar.

Brush not turnning

The brush roller is driven by a belt installed on the motor shaft. The belt could be broken or off the shaft. The brush roller could be clogged inside the end caps with debris which prevents rotation. To solve the debris problem, it will be necessary to remove the belt from the motor shaft, then note the orientation of the end caps and remove the brush roller. Next, remove one end cap and check for clogging material. Remove the material. Slide the brush roller shaft away from the end of the brush roller to check for clogging material at the opposite end. Remove the material. Slide the brush roller shaft back into position and reinstall the end cap. Reinstall the brush roller in the correct position. Reinstall the belt. Check for proper rotation of the brush roller.

Motor hums but does not turn freely, can you turn the motor by removing the motor end cap?

no! You have to remove the pump end to find the shift, You may look between the pump and motor and find the shift splice and set screws that need to be tighted up.

I have a brand new 1 1/2 hp superflo. I wired it in and turned on the power, it hummed for a few secounds and trip the breaker. now it it wont work and just immediatly trips the breaker. Any ideas as

It sounds like the motor shaft is stuck. The back end of the motor has an end cap that comes off so you can access the end of the motor shaft. Try this with the power off; Remove the cap (center rear of the motor),Using an open ended 9/16 wrench you should be able to turn the shaft back and forth. A motor that has sat for a while will sometimes act like yours did. A nudge with the wrench usually breaks it free. Remove your wrench and turn pump on. If it still won't start the motor may be defective.

How to remove starter motor from 1979 FXS Lowrider (80 CI)

Hi Mark, I had a 1980 FXS nice bike, start by disconnecting the battery negative cable, rear exhaust pipe, starter motor chrome end cap, all wires and cable connected to starter, totally unscrew but do no remove the two starter motor through bolts/studs that secure the end cap bracket and finally using both hands one at each end of starter gently pull out starter. You do not want starter to come apart which it very easily can thats why the use of both hands. Good luck and have nice day.

My brushbar isn't rotating but the belt and motor are fine - any suggestions please

The brushbar needs to rotate in the end pieces that hold it onto the head. If the motor and belts are fine, your problem is the brushbar is seized on its shaft. To solve, remove the bottom plate. Then lift out the end of the brushbar opposite the belt, but do not remove the brushbar. Grab the bar with one hand and the end cap with the other and pull the end cap off. It just slides on the shaft. If the shaft comes with the cap, no problem. That means the opposite end cap came off the shaft. Clean the dust/lint out of there and then take a look at the other end for the same. Slide everything back together and the bar should now be free to rotate on the shaft. Reinstall the bottom plate and you are ready to go.

More then likely the coupling between the motor and the transmission. To get to it tilt control panel back (held down by either two screws font or rear in the end caps or two clips under front of end caps . Remove two clips holding back to case . Remove plug to lid switch . Tilt case up and forward from back and remove. clips hog pump to motor. Clips hold motor to trani.(screws to hold clips).Coupling in three pieces

Remove the shaft cap at the back of the motor(small circular cap in back). use 7/16" wrench to hold the shaft under the cap whiile spinning the impeller counter clockwise untill impeller is off. using a 1/4" hex driver remove the 4 through bolt located at the rear of the motor. seperate end caps on motor housing to access the bearings. use puller to remove. use the 3/4" conduit to tap new bearing into place. How to replace power cord

remove the bolts that the hold two ends on . mark houseing, scratch one end with a x from end cap to houseing. then the other end with a stright line from end cap to motor houseing so it all stay the way it came apart. ok.remove the end that was the cord or get to it . cut wires long but not to long there is no room in the motor for it. you will need a good pair of crimping plires and rigth size crimps connectors. and some rubber tape or srink tube to cover repaired lines in motor. some motors have bolt /screw to connect to it. make a drawing of the wires on the motor before removing. after repairis made with volt /ohm meter, set to the lowset ohms setting. check each line to see if it connected right. make sure it looks like your drawing .line up ends with reference mark install bolts tight but not too tight. good luck

Kenmore washing machine motor coupling

It goes between motor and transmission, underneath.
You need to remove 2 screws in console. They might be in back, on ends or in front ends. If you can't see any, they are under the console end caps. To remove end caps, pry off by pulling caps towards outside from center part of cap. Pry toward you and towards outside. Then remove 2 screws and flip console up and back. Unplug connector to washer cabinet. Remove 2 gold colored clips by inserting straight screwdriver in them and prying back. Make not of their position first. Now tilt cabinet toward you and slide forward and off base.
To replace, tilt cabinet and slide under frame in front. Now lower cabinet on to frame, making sure cabinet is on frame on sides. Re-install clips by placing them in position and pushing down with palm of hand. Plug in connector, lower console and install screws.
