Is it not heating at all when you run the microwave or does the food still heat fine or just warm up a little? Most likely the line fuse is bad on this microwave, which repairclinic.com will have if you want to order one (just type in your model number into the search to bring it up). Otherwise it could be anything from the charging diode, capacitor or the magnatron, or even the high voltage transformer. If you don't have the electrical expertise to fix it, then you may be better off to get a new microwave. They are dangerous to work on if you don't know what you are doing, so make sure to have an electrical inclined person working on it. Let me know how this works out for you. Benjamin

This product must still be under warranty, I would call Emerson or a local servicer who repairs Emerson microwavesmw8104ss Unit - 2_bing.gif under warranty. Usually the warranty's are 1-3 years.

It seems you probably have a defective door switch or broken door switch mount.

This is not any easy fix I'm sorry to say. I could recommend part replacements, but this is not a professional way to solve your issue. I know many people have had problems with this model, and It is usually a factor not directed to one easily replaced part or solution.

sounds like a cross wire, and a short. I'd inspect the socket for the bulbs to ensure that there's no short circuit.

Hello, I have a Panasonic MMT573SBBPQ microwave oven. 1. The turntable table stopped working. 2 Tested motor all OK 3. Noticed bulb had blown - replaced this (as was on same circuit as motor) 4. result :...

Check the door switch and once the door is shut the board must be active. If there is no clock or display then the processor board is faulty. Also if there is no action from the touch pad then it must be checked. Since the turntable works as you start the processor seems to work but the output to the magnetron is not active. So you need to check the relay to the magnetron switching, check the temperature cut off unit and the main capacitor.
All the above seems to be suspected.
Attempt with care/caution as there is high voltage present.

Panasonic Microwave NN-S935BF turntable and light do not work. Microwave still works. Bulb and turntable motor okay. No power to light or turntable. Any ideas?

Your description seems to be confusing turntable and light do not work
Bulb and motor OK
No power to light or turntable

Which is it?

They could be separate incidents. The drive motor could be fused and the globe just blew its life away..

Clock and timer on Whirlpool GH7155XHS micro/hood are running slow. Clock loses about 10min/hr and kitchen timer countdown is slow.

I've just fixed a very similar problem with a 10-yr-old NEC microwave oven.

Disconnect AC power, take the top cover off, go through the unit and tighten all screws, particularly those connecting ground wires to the chassis and those fixing major components like the power transformer and magnetron to the chassis.

Microwave external underside light no longer works

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

The lights fan can be inoperable or stuck on or no bright, too. Sometimes this will similarly affect the exhaust fan operation, too.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Whirlpool MH1140XM: has power, but no heat, turntable not spin.

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts.

Has power to unit but nothing works, ie. oven, clock, timers, etc

If you don't see any light in the display or from the light bulb inside it you probably need to replace the fuse inside the microwave, it should be by the place where the cord goes in the microwave.

Turntable, lights and fan inop

I'm guessing that nothing is working...is that right? If so, first guess is the breaker or an internal fuse. Nearly all units have them. You don't say what fuse you checked. Unplug the unit, remove the bulb and see what is in the socket. Next, open the breaker and then turn it back on. This will reset it. Something caused this.

Does the turntable rotate? If everything but this works (except no heat), you probably have a bad door switch. Here's a discussion of what's involved in replacing it: http://www.fixya.com/support/t267796-kenmore_microwave_hood_combination_over

If the turntable does rotate, I'd suspect a more significant failure, such as the transformer, capacitor, or magnetron. If it's any of these, it's time to replace the unit.
