Do you have any details on what the error was? If it was a 001 read error, or something related, where you often get a green or blue screen, you simply need to FIRST eject the disc by pressing the eject button, then hold the power button down for about 5 seconds and your Wii will shut down.

Is there a way to get the disc out without dismantling the entire TV? Disc is stuck, lock icon shows when eject button is pressed. Can TV be reset to factory specs?

Try the following. kindly update result here in comments

Depending on the model number of your DVD player, simultaneously press the POWER + STOP + EJECT buttons.

If the disc tray still does not open, simultaneously press the DISC1 + STOP + EJECT buttons.
NOTE: This step may not apply to all models as DISC1 is not available on all DVD players.

If this does not work and if the DVD player has DISPLAY and PREV buttons, press and hold the DISPLAY+PREV buttons for two seconds to unlock the drawer.

What is the model number of your DVD player? You may try power resetting the unit and check if it helps. To power reset, turn OFF the DVD player and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and turn the player ON. Attempt to open the disc tray.

Disconnect the power to the unit; perhaps pulling the radio fuse out - in the fusebox. Then put the fuse back in because you've got to reset the error.
