Hi again,

To summarize what has been done and/or what we know so far:
1. You cannot install the CD driver/installer of an HP DeskJet F380;
2. you have administrative rights and/or are the administrator;
3. you are not running a registry lock such as Ad-Watch;
4. there are no known viruses, suspicious/malicious files,
5. you can access all including restricted functions.

Other things you can try:
a. clear all pending print jobs;
b. clear the print spooler & queue;
c. use Disk Cleanup to clean all temporary and unwanted files;
d. uninstall all instances of the HP F380 in the Printers & Faxes;
e. verify that no instance or remove any of HP F380 in Add/Remove Programs;
f. verify that no instance or remove any of HP F380 in MSConfig;
g. verify that no instance or remove any of HP F380 in Registry;
h. run registry cleaners such as RegClean, WinOptimizer and/or WinDoctor;
i. remove/re-install all Universal Serial Bus Controllers
j. update/patch your USB port from Microsoft
k. update your USB drivers from the motherboard manufacturer;
l. re-install the HP F380 following the directions and on-screen carefully.

Pls update results of above.

A friendly not, your initial/original post was "Please help ." and nothing more. I am providing assistance on the assumption that you are asking for help and not demanding it as reflected in the tone of your questions above.

Good luck and kind regards.

When I open computer a message displayed cannot find regsvr.exe

Hi there.
You have a virus on the PC!!

What the regsvr.exe virus does?
• This worm creates folders and a registry entry to enable its automatic execution at every system startup.
• This worm also creates a scheduled task to enable its automatic execution at a specified date and/or time.
• It also creates Autorun.inf file for its auto execution.
Solution to fix the problem:
1. If the task manager and registry editor is disabled then we need to enable them first. Read this post.
2. Delete the Autorun.inf file created by the virus. First go to cmd (start menu, run or search, type “attrib X:Autorun.inf –s –r –h” without quotes where X is your drive name which is having the problem. Now the file is visible and ready to delete. After deleting the file, close the explorer and open it again
3. Now type msconfig in the Run dialog and click on startup tab.
4. Look for regsvr and uncheck any options, click OK.
5. Now traverse to control panel -> scheduled tasks, and delete the At1 task that might be listed there.
6. Type regedit in the Run dialog to open the registry editor.
7. Click on Edit -> Find and search for regsvr.exe
8. Just delete all the occurrences of regsvr.exe virus (do not confuse it with regsvr32.exe which is not a virus).
9. Navigate to entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogon and modify the entry Shell = “Explorer.exe regsvr.exe” to delete the regsvr.exe from it.
shell_regsvr.jpg10. Now to actually delete the virus from the system go to system32 folder and delete the regsvr.exe virus file from there (you will need to uncheck the option of “Hide Protected System Files and Folders” in Folder Options to view the virus file).
Reboot the system for changes to take place.
If this is too much for you to understand please post back for an alternative.

Good luck

Enable the Registry Editor, Task Manager and Folder Options Disabled by Viru

Virus attack is common these days and we often come across the problems like Disabled Folder Options or like Task Manager and Regedit disabled by Administrator. These problems are nothing but virus activities. The virus has infected our system and stopping us from accessing these options.
23f407e.jpg
Pressing keys Ctrl+Alt+Del opens up a dialog saying that “Task Manager has been disabled by your Administrator” whereas you are the Administrator yourself. It becomes very annoying when you think that you can fix this problem by going into the Registry Editor but it doesn’t show up. Even the Folder Options gets disabled.
This problem is generally caused by a virus named “Brontok” but don’t worry just use RRT (Remove Restrictions Tool) that can easily solve this problem. RRT is free and can successfully enable:
1. Folder Options
2. Regedit (Registry Editor)
3. Task Manager
4. Show Hidden Files option
The tool will come more useful if you use it in Safe Mode.
Download RRT

I want to down load realtec hd driver

In task manager click on "new task" and then type "explorer.exe" into the dialogue box. If everything boots up then its somhow been removed from your startup process, most likly a virus.

Type "msconfig" into the run dialogue box (start>run) [start menu search in vista] and check your startup options.

To manually re-add explorer to the startup follow these instuctions carefully.

Type regedit into the run dialogue box (start>run) [start menu search in vista] navigate the folders on the left to Winlogon

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/CURRENT VERSION/WinLogon
look for Shell double click it and in the value data box delete whats there and put this:
explorer.exe

Unable to activate show hidden folders

Hi,

Based on your description, the OS is infected with a virus. The virus controls this so as to prevent you from seeing "unknown", "unfamiliar" files/folders and thus itself. Th easiest is to run your antivirus and an online scanner, clean/delete said viruses from your system and their support files. Some other indicators are, Task Manager will not show, "msconfig" will run but auto close as well as what you posted, Folder Options will not engage.

Additionally, you could try to:
  • download, install and run RRT.exe to force the registry into removing these restrictions;
  • download, install and run AdAware.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Looks like you are infected with the brontok virus. It also disables registry editor and task manager. You can check. And if this is the case, You can download the brontok removal tool from here.

Task manager

Hi,

If you are certain that you are logged on as administrator or has administrator privileges, then a virus is preventing your opening of the Task Manager. Additionally, the same virus is likewise preventing access to the Folder Option and the MSCONFIG function.

Of course the correct solution would be to run a full deep virus scan and delete detected ones. You can also try running RRT.exe to force access to the above functions.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Access Denied

Hi again XX,

That or you have a virus preventing certain administrative rights, installing something new such as your printer is one.

Some viruses could not be detected outright by your Anti-Virus. Checks that you can perform that would indicate you have certain types of viruses are:
1. see if you can access your folder options;
2. see if you can open your msconfig;
3. see ify you can open your Windows Task manager.

Thank you for asking me to be your Tech Buddy and the post back.

Pls update results of above tests.

Cheers.
