Hi again,

To summarize what has been done and/or what we know so far:
1. You cannot install the CD driver/installer of an HP DeskJet F380;
2. you have administrative rights and/or are the administrator;
3. you are not running a registry lock such as Ad-Watch;
4. there are no known viruses, suspicious/malicious files,
5. you can access all including restricted functions.

Other things you can try:
a. clear all pending print jobs;
b. clear the print spooler & queue;
c. use Disk Cleanup to clean all temporary and unwanted files;
d. uninstall all instances of the HP F380 in the Printers & Faxes;
e. verify that no instance or remove any of HP F380 in Add/Remove Programs;
f. verify that no instance or remove any of HP F380 in MSConfig;
g. verify that no instance or remove any of HP F380 in Registry;
h. run registry cleaners such as RegClean, WinOptimizer and/or WinDoctor;
i. remove/re-install all Universal Serial Bus Controllers
j. update/patch your USB port from Microsoft
k. update your USB drivers from the motherboard manufacturer;
l. re-install the HP F380 following the directions and on-screen carefully.

Pls update results of above.

A friendly not, your initial/original post was "Please help ." and nothing more. I am providing assistance on the assumption that you are asking for help and not demanding it as reflected in the tone of your questions above.

Good luck and kind regards.

Check your System scanner application is running. Open the End Task manager select the tab process and see there may be scanner.exe is there select that one and click end task.

Try it.

Select " Last know good configuration" & press Enter. Next page asking for selecting operating system, for example: windows vista or Windows XP etc. Just select the operating system & press Enter again. ( Hope your laptop showing only one operating system ). Your laptop will start normally & all the icon comeback like previous. We are not able to use any of the programs on the laptop. None of the .exe files are functioning. Tried to run a virus program, can't. Tried to edit regedit, can't. IE seems to be on a clock because it...

First, you have to kill the process that's doing all this.
Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del, choose Task Manager, and look for tasks
Kill them both. Now you should be able to run regedit to remove unwanted entries:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\systemsecurity2009 displayicon
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\systemsecurity2009 displayname
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\systemsecurity2009 shortcutpath
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\systemsecurity2009 uninstallstring
And then look for the following files on your hard disk (be sure to include system and hidden files):
system security 2009.lnk
system security 2009 support.lnk

There are a couple of variants of this fake security tool, if yours is different, look for strange processes in Task Manager first, kill them and then look for further help.

Please help me :(

Hello, you should uninstall the old 'printer' and old drivers, turn off your popup blocker, and reinstall the printer with the new Vista drivers for seres X2310, X2330, X2350.>>> Driver Download <<<
Click the link for a page with several driver options for Vista.

Print this page to a PDF file and save to your desktop for reference until you can print paper documents.

If you do not have a PDF print program, has a FREE (TOTALLY) WARE program for VISTA. I have installed, tested and yes, it works.

You may need to access the Run Command to initiate printing.
How to Access the Run Command in Microsoft Windows Vista Background

The Run command, which was available in the Start menu of Windows 2000 and Windows XP, is not visible in Windows Vista.

Accessing the Run command in Windows Vista

Most keyboards have a Windows key, usually located between the Ctrl and Alt keys. If you hold down the Windows key and press 'R', a Run prompt will appear.

This may be useful if you need to start msconfig in order to limit start items, or msinfo32 to gather system information files (files with a .nfo extension).

Msconfig has added a Tools section. Several common tasks can be managed from here, including Regedit, Event Viewer, System Information, Command Prompt, and Task Manager. To open one of these tasks, highlight the task and click Launch.

Access Denied

Hi again XX,

That or you have a virus preventing certain administrative rights, installing something new such as your printer is one.

Some viruses could not be detected outright by your Anti-Virus. Checks that you can perform that would indicate you have certain types of viruses are:
1. see if you can access your folder options;
2. see if you can open your msconfig;
3. see ify you can open your Windows Task manager.

Thank you for asking me to be your Tech Buddy and the post back.

Pls update results of above tests.
