Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

My Dell M992 monitor screen is blurry and there are squiggly lines running through it. The color is perfect. I even changed the resolution with no luck. Is it time for a new one or can it be fixed? I...

Check the cable going from the pc to the monitor and ensure the connections are secure. You also may want to try moving the cable away from any other power cords if possible.

If this does not help then most likely it is time for a new one.

Dell m992 crt monitor

If it's getting no signal, make sure the monitor is set for the correct input. This would be either analog (if your cord has blue ends) or digital (if the connectors are white). Depending on wt yhat your monitor is, a button on the monitor will help you set that. If it's set for the correct input signal, then switch out a different cable to see if perchance you have a bad cable out of the box. If there is another PC or laptop setting around, plug your monitor into that to make sure it's good and maybe even plug THAT monitor into yours to make sure there is nothing wrong with your video card. Let me know what transpires. If this takes care of things, please help me out by rating it accordingly.

Dell m992 screen problems

If you notice, when you see the windows start screen, its usually "big and dopey". Thats because the video drivers aren't being used yet. If it is blanking out right after you see that screen (with the scrolling bar), my guess is it's a corrupt / bad video driver.

Was any other hardware added recently?

So your sure when you go into the monitor settings, and color, it is set to like 9300k or something? It probably isn't the monitor, because the video games you said display just fine.
