Why does my Panasonic DMCFZ28 take pictures when I push the zoom lever?

I suspect the snap key is shot circuited, use contact cleaner spray in the click button often press it to get ride of possible carbon shot circuit between the switch. in some cases the processor will malfunction, and if moisture or water particles gone inside, you must open the cam and clean the motherboard thoroughly with PCB cleaning agent.

NV-R50 refuses to eject

This series uses several surface mount flexible cable connectors, the actual socket lifts from pcb and needs to be resoldered, 3 on main pcb and one onservo/drive pcb which is most likely, but due to its age, maybe other problems also, hard to say

Auto zooming on power up, intermittent problem

Possibly a intermittent connection in the control buttons or the ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector from the controls to the main PCB.
Take it in for servicing, they will do a trial by substitution (swap out control) and lubricate the connector.
There isn't really anything you can do to fix with this sort of problem.

No power up on battery when turning unit on. Panasonic DMC-FZ2 digital camera, lens will not drive, screen blank, just no go.

Need to take it to the repair agents, hopefully just the fuse, It is a PCB surface mount device (SMD) which is not replaceable by the customer, sometimes they just go. Otherwise the main PCB is faulty. They are a good camera, I have one of them too.

Canon SD850IS not powering on at all

Water exposure of any kind is very BAD. You can short out the fuse or you can cause bad corrosion to the PCB (printed circuit board).

You can try replacing the fuse on the board if there isn't heavy corrosion seen, the fuses are very cheap and if you know somebody who can solder well then can do the repair fairly easily once you locate the fuse on the board.

If there is bad corrosion, you will need to replace the PCB. Problem is NOBODY out there will sell you a PCB for a decent price because they are very expensive to buy new from Canon... roughly $150 I would say, if not more.

We take pride in being an affordable digital camera repair shop, and if we can we would love to help with your repair. I don't have current pricing for this PCB but I can check with my overseas supplier and find out how much they are new. I can also see if I have a used one (I think I do...) that we could use to do the repair if that is what your camera needed.

Again as I said... corrosion is bad. If there is ANY corrosion Canon will refuse the repair.

If you would like to give us a try, please contact me or visit us online. (Google: DarnToothySam)

Even if you dont use us let me know if I can be of any further help.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Won't turn ON

Time for new camera me think, if it is out of warranty.
These items are virtually unrepairable.
Money better spent on newer more uptodate version
