70 amps is a very large fuse for a 250W amplifier.
Watts are Amps multiplied by Volts, so you can work backwards and get to a much smaller fuse value.
250W / 14.4V = 17A.
If your kickers are wired to run mono at 2 ohms instead of 4 ohms, then your amp may be putting out up to 500W instead of 250W, in which case you will blow a 20A fuse and need to run a 40A.
