Question about Kenmore 98702 Stacked Washer/Dryer

The spin cycle is very slow. how do i tighten the belt?

I have a stackable kenmore and the spin cycle is slow. i have the front panel off and don't know how to get tension on the belt to tighten the bolt on the wheel.

There is no adjustment that can be made.either your motor windings are weak and causing the tub to spin slowly.or the transmission bearings are going out causeing extra tension and slowing it down.
you could have a bad belt as well over time they do get a little stretched and become loose on the pulleys.

possibly the clutch is slipping, i've heard you can take a #10 washer and put it in one end of your clutch spring caps and that would tighten it up

Water under stackable washer dryer


The front panel comes off and you will be able to trace the water source. These combo units spin immediatly and if the drain is slow the water will spin up over the edge of the tub during drain.

Wont spin cycle at full speed


Burning smell is a slipping belt. These are tricky to get apart and diagnose but find the reason the belt is slipping and replacing it will solve your problem. Could be clutch, bearing or gearcase related.

out balance are water still in tub will do that try cleaning out the pump filter under the panel at the bottom of the washer some have a big white looking screw you turnit remove filter if there water in it it will flow to the floor so have something to catch it with

ok " sounds like belts are slipping, readjust or replace belts

adjustment bolts on motor will tighten belts
