I think that the problem Enquiry addresses is that one can create a thumbnail image from a movie into a bitmap or a jpg-image. The thumbnail image contains between 4x4 images up to 4x8 images depending on the settings. So it has nothing to do with displaying content as thumbnails in Vista, but rather creating that ONE image showing thumbnails from a movie.

A very nice feature if you are shooting movies and you want an easy way to keep track of the content in each movie...

You might want to inspect the DEFAULT settings of Adobe Premiere after installing it, then try to change to the settings to CUSTOM. Take your time. Also, after installing Adobe, go back to the graphics folder in VISTA and inspect the VIEW properties; chnge content view to TUMBNAILS.

Good luck

There is no known software compatibility with adobe premiere and vista. The problem will be that you might have changed any setting in vista for thumbnails. I know vista is much different than windows. So, have a look around at the settings.

Scanning with epson dx4450 (using Windows 8) seems to generate "damageded files"

Adobe reader cannot open .jpg files. Adobe reader is designed to read files with a .pdf file extension. PDF is a quasi-universal format that's common across multiple operating systems. If your scanner will allow you to save files in .pdf format, Adobe reader should be able to open them. Otherwise, you'll have to use a picture file viewer/editor. Most versions of Windows have a picture viewer built in.

How to convert thumbnail into ICONS in windows 8 interface

First time I installed windows 8 i faced that problem that in place of icon it was showing only thumbnail. So here goes the solution to convert thumbnail into icons in windows 8 interface-

Open up the folder with the pictures and click on the View tab
Next click on Options to the far right
Then Click on Change folder and search options
This opens up an options menu
Navigate to the view tab
uncheck the box that says Always show icons, never thumbnails
And Check the box that says Display file icon on thumbnails.

This should solve the problem. It worked for me.

Any way to make thumbnail view a default?

Your best bet is to use the built-in File Browser. It has 2 panes: 1 is a directory tree and the other is a thumbnail view of folder contents. I know Photoshop has this and would expect that Publisher has the same. So instead of going to File>Open, use the File Browser which is usually located near the top right-hand side of the toolbar within the application. Double-click a thumbnail to open the file.

There might be a special command within the application or a Windows registry setting that would enable a default thumbnail view in the Open dialog box, but I don't know of one off hand.

Thumbnail option is not available while viewing the photos

if you have same OS (operating system) disk or recovery disk which has been currently installed in your PC/Laptop then follow these instructions:
insert your os or recovery disk in to cd/dvd drive then
go to Start>Run then type in "sfc /scannow" without quotes and hit enter.
it will takes few minutes to restore your all settings back (it just restores only OS settings so you wont lose any files and folders) so just let it run until it's done.
once done just reboot system your system then you will be good to go.
Note: there is space between "sfc and /" so if you don't hit space then it wont let you go.
Thank you.

Windows Explorer sends continuously error messages

Turning off thumbnails will probably stop you getting that error

DO:
Open Control Panel > Folder Options > Always show Icons, Never Thumbnails

However, this isn't actually fixing the problem.

Do you have Nero installed by any chance?

If so try:
Open Computer > System Drive > Program files > Common Files > Ahead > DSfilter.
Rename "NeroVideoProc.ax" to "1NeroVideoProc.ax"
Also rename "NeVideo.ax" to "1NeVideo.ax"

And then reboot.

No thumbnail Preview of video files in VISTA Ultimate

You will not get video previews on files for which you lack the proper video codex. Furthermore, that codex needs to be accessible to Windows media player. If it is application specific, only available to Nero, etc. it won't work.

HOW TO OPEN FILES WITH THM EXTENSION

THM is a video thumbnail. Chances are pretty good that there is another file on the storage media (memory card?) that you can actually view. Check for an AVI or MPG file as well.

Otherwise, the THM SHOULD be viewable in any standard video player. I highly recommend GOM player.
