Question about Dishwashers

2 Answers

I have a whirlpool model KuDSO1FL and the clean light blinks and won't start after the cycle has been selected and the start button is pressed. I have tried canceling the cycle but it won't work. The dishwasher was working yesterday and today it drained once we cancelled the cycle and then pressed start but that is all that we could get done. I don't know what the problem is.

Hi there, I don't have a high temperature wash button, etc on my panel. All the choices that I have in order for the cycles are Baked on Cookware, Normal, Light/China, Quick Clean-Up andRinse Only. The panel then goes into the Options which are in order, Hi-Temp Scrub, Sani-Rinse, Engery Saver Dry and 4 hour Delay. After that there are three areas where three lights can come on to indicate the control lock, the sanitized or clean. The clean light is the one that is blinking and won't stop. It is blinking 7 x before it pauses and starts blinking again. I have tried using my owner's manual to cancel the problem, but it doesn't work. Any other suggestions?

Your appliance's clean light blinking will require a service call. It could be several things indicating a problem that are not serviceable by the home owner. You can try turning the power off at the breaker box, then turn it back on and see if this resets the blinking light.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, and then repeats. When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

All the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cycle finish (1-2 minutes). You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal. If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (i.e. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

As I said earlier press to resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...high temp scrub then energy saver dry then high temp scrub and then energy saver dry. If this does not resolve the issue then you have to get the control board replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
    Thanks

The clean button blinks. the only button that works is the drain button.

Hello

Confirm that the door is closed and latched. dishwashers can detect if the door is open and will cancel any cleaning cycles to prevent water spillage. Wait for around 20 minutes before unplugging or moving the dishwasher in case the washer is cooling down, draining or drying dishes. Call a technician if the dryer does not restart.

Verify that a cycle has been selected using the "Cycles" button and that the "Start/Resume" button has been pressed. Unlike some models of dishwasher, appliances won't start until you select a cleaning cycle and press the "Start/Resume" button.

Confirm that the dishwasher's electrical outlet is switched on, if necessary, and that power is being supplied by plugging in a lamp. You may need to replace a fuse or reset a breaker on the electrical circuit if the lamp will not work in the outlet. Ensure that the dishwasher is plugged into the outlet.

Ensure that the water shutoff valves at the wall are open and that the supply hoses are free of kinks. Your washer will not start if it is unable to access the water supply. Most shutoff valves need to be turned clockwise or moved to the "Open" position to work properly.

Open the door and check the overfill float in the bottom of the dishwasher. Push it down to make sure it can move up and down freely. The machine will not start if the sensor is stuck at the top. The overfill float looks like a small cone on top of a disc with a paddle attached to the side.

Won't start/run. CLEAN light blinks continuously. manual drain (CANCEL)button works model number DU1100XTPQ9

When the clean light is blinking, the self-test on the dishwasher has reported a problem with the heating circuit. It needs to be fixed. If the dishwasher is still under warranty, call for service.

The manual for the DU1100XTPQ9 is here: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/4164/WHIRLPOOL-Dishwasher-L0704454?brand_name_search=DU1100XTPQ9+WHIRLPOOL . Various parts diagrams and links to purchase the parts are here http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Dishwasher-Parts/Model-DU1100XTPQ9/1198/0130000 .

I hope this helps.

Whirlpool model KUDSO1FL not starting cleaning

I fixed the problem by hitting Hi-Scrub then Economy Dry in sequence four times in a row. All of the lights came on, I am assuming to reset it the program, then went off and the start button was highlighted. I then pressed cancel and then selected the program that I wanted to wash with and pressed start. It worked like a charm.

Whirlpool quiet partner I won't run just keeps blinking

is the cean light blinking 7 times and then repaeating?? If so this is a water heating fault and means that the computer sensed that the water temp didnt rise just 3deg in the last main wash cycle. If its not blinking 7times then repeat, it sounds like the user interface (membrane switches) have failed. Let me know more and i can help.
