Printer is connected to a CISCO switch which uses DHCP to hand out IPs. There is no server at the loction were the printer is located. Printer is set up as a local printer to the workstations via IP addressing.

Changed the speed from 100 to 10. Pinging last 10 minute instead of 1 minute.

Had the tech take it back to their systems were they were successful in having it connected to a switch that was DHCP and it work fine.

Possible problem with CISCO????

Trying to send a fax, getting a MEMORY IS LOW message. Dispaly goes on to say PRESS OK, and when we do, the send is canceled. Doesn't matter if we are faxing one page or multiple pages.

Hi Geo Group,

To clear the memory try the following:

1. Turn the printer off
2. Hold down the right arrow and the cancel button
3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.

This reset will clear all of your saved settings and contacts, if networked print out a configuration report after resetting the printer to view the ip address (IPV4). If the IP address has changed you will need to update the print driver's port tab and update the port.

My ip4300 keeps printing the same page over and over again. There's nothing in the print Q, but no matter what new job I send to the printer it prints the same old page. Is there a way to reset the printer...

Have you rebooted your computer? The printer's memory is very limited -- certainly not enough to hold an entire page. Your computer feeds the printer a line at a time, so it would seem that your computer's print spooler is 'stuck' on that print job. Try shutting the computer down completely, then restarting and see if that print job clears out.

How do I tell the printer to take from the top tray?

Page 63 of your HP LaserJet 4600dn printer manual:

Controlling print jobs: (condensed version) MS Windows

Three settings affect how the printer driver tries to pull paper when you send a print job. The "Source," "Type," and "Size" settings appear in the Page Setup, Print, or Print Properties dialog boxes in most software programs.

Your question indicates that you wish to configure your printer to take from the top tray. That is a "Source" setting. So in the print Setup or Print Properties dialog box, change the "Source" to Tray 1.

Printing by Source means you choose a specific tray
from which you want the printer to pull paper. The printer tries to print from this tray, no matter what type or size is loaded in it. If you choose a tray that is configured from the embedded Web server for a type or size that does not match your print job, the
printer does not print automatically. Instead, it waits for you to load the tray you chose with the type or size of print media for your print job. If you load the tray, the printer begins printing. If you press the printer tries to print from another tray that has the correct type or size.

Kindly vote for my solution if this info was helpful.

How to set a printer to print only 1 copy no matter what # is put

You cannot do it -- when you request '3' copies, the computer sends 3 times as much text & commands to the printer. So, the printer cannot tell when the 2nd and 3rd copy begins.

Our printer (Kodak 5300 AiO) won't print pictures no matter what program we print them from. All we get is a few colored lines across the page. What should we be doing?

Follow the trouble shooting guide lines that came with your printer. I had the same problem and followed those procedures and then contacted Kodak with the info. It turns out that the printer head is bad and They WILL send You 1 FREE of charge and a free color and black cartrige along with it. The print head just snaps out and the new one snaps back in and You send it back in the prestamped envelope. the Printer parts are guaranteed for LIFE and are free if You follow the guidelines in the trouble shoot area.
Hope This Helps:

Printer will not accept the paper no matter what i do. i need to know how to take the printer apart. its a lexmark x85 all in one.

Please, do not take anything apart just yet.

Are you saying that regardless of where you insert the paper, no paper is fed into the printer when a print job is sent to the printer?

If you are, then you need to install the paper in one location, then make sure your driver properties is set for that location. Once that is done, then you need to go to page setup in the application you are using and make sure you are sending the print job to the same paper source.

Also, try using the printer all alone. Don't connect it to the PC. Go into the maintenance menus and print either a test page or a demo page.

If all else fails, do a "Print to file" from the driver. Then when prompted, name the file "papfeed". Send the job to janddgasrepair@verizon.net and I'll see if I can read the file and tell where it is expecting the paper to come from (no charge)

Printer prints garbage, no matter what I print

I suppose you may have an uncleared printer memory. Right your printer icon and select Open from the shortcut menu. click on document menu and highlighting all the pending files select Cancel to get rid of them. You may have power down the printer to fasten the process. It will take a couple of minutes and sometimes the pc will have to restarted to complete the process. Make sure the all the files are deleted before sending to the printer ok. Also check your printer very well, it could be it has a reset button. if it does, power it on and depress the reset button and that will settle the matter. If it doesn't, then you will have go for confirmed USB cable and adapter. Good luck

Mac computer sends job to printer, green light blinks, but no printing takes place.

A few possible reasons

Print Driver is corrupt
Replace the print Driver

Printer memory set on the computer for a larger size then what the printer has.
Print a configuration page on the printer. (Press and hold down the large button for 7 seconds no longer than 15seconds) When the light flashes release the button.
On the page you will see the Memory size. Make sure you computer is set to the proper avail printer memory.
