Question about Nintendo Wii Fit for Wii

3 Answers

My wii fit board keeps telling me to ''step off the balance board and press A'' I am not standing on it when i get this message. I've checked the batteries, re synched the board to my wii, taken out the disk and re inserted, and run the check to make sure the ''wii balance board is functioning correctly'' and it is... but still can't use it.

We are also experiencing the same problem and there doesn't appear to be a solution.

Looked around for a solution for a long time for this one.

1) removing the batteries from the Wii Fit balance board for at least a minute.

2) Turn the Wii OFF by pressing the POWER Button on the front of the console. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for a few seconds. After a few seconds plug the cord back into the outlet.

2 Turn the power of the Wii console ON. When you see the Health and Safety screen, open the small flap on the front of the Wii console to find a red button labeled "SYNC." Press and hold the SYNC Button down for 15 seconds. This should clear all the old syncs on the Wii.

3 After holding the SYNC Button on the Wii console down for at least 15 seconds, you can now "re-sync" your Wii Remotes:

a With the first Wii Remote you wish to sync, remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote to find a small red button just below the batteries.

b Press and release the small red button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the blue lights on the front of the Wii Remote will turn on.

c Quickly press and release the red SYNC button on the inside of the white flap on the front of the Wii console.

d When the Player LED blinking stops and stays lit, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

4 Start the game from the Wii Menu, don't forget to sync the Wii Balance Board from the opening screen of the game (you've deleted the syncs earlier).

Another problem may be the surface on which you post the Wii fit, make sure it's flat, try put it on the floor directly or place it on a rug.

And don't forget to "step on" it when it says and not before as the Wii console might be "overloaded".

What do you do when your wii balance board keeps saying please step off me and press A

Sorry to tell you but it has gone faulty, you need to take it in for repair. There are no serviceable parts inside.

My wii fit board keeps repeating same instruction on screen " please step off me and press a" although no one is standing on it. Can you help please?

Sounds like one of the 'tact' switches is stuck and always sending a signal. Needs to be taken apart and checked. Then repaired or replaced.

Balance board keeps asking me to step off? Even though I'm not stood not it !It keeps asking me to press (A) Which I have done, but still keeps asking.

When you get that message, pick the board up, press A and hopefully it will work for you. I had the very same problem, saw this solution online and it did the trick.

My wii fit balance board says to step off and press A

You need to load it, stand on the board, step off, and then press A. I have a WiiFit and that happens. It expects you to be standing on it.

"Step Off Me and Press A" message while not on wii board

When you get this message, lift the board off the ground, press A, and wait until you get to the confirmation screen before placing the board back on the ground. You may have to try a few times to get the timing right. I have no idea why it thinks someone is on the board, but this workaround has solved the problem for us. Good luck.
