your aqualink has a one touch chip in it you have to program with the hard wired controller if you dont have one you need to upgrade the chip to a PDA chip to program with the hand held
go into system setup you should see aquapure if set to 0 it will not show on screen also make sure the aquapure red 4 pin connector is plugged in so the PCB board and the PDA can see it
Try first removing PDA battery and sse if reset. If you can bypass the date screen you can also do a master reset from ' settings' menu. The firmware in your pda is corrupted , it must be reinstalled, provide make and model thanks.
press the 1st and 4th button on the shortcut menu on the front and press the reset button. This will go through a complete hard reset and deactivate the battery. IT will take your PDA back to factory default mode. It saves you a lot of trouble. GOOD luck. If my explaining it to you didnt help then google "complete reset pda ipaq 1710". :)
