Question about Ovens
Separate it down into chunks
The top Grill will have its own stat & probe of which the probe will sit near the top of the oven cavity.(Same for the lower unit)
Very unlikely that the switch is warming up that much inside that it would transfer the heat to the outer knob, to get that hot the switch would burn out.
There is normally a cooling fan in the back of the unit which draws air out of the rear cavity and ejects it through slots in the front of the oven.
These are controlled by a timer pcb and do fail, if they do, the air is not moved and gets hotter which can warm the controls panel and the knobs up
The bottom oven will have a fan which no doubt has siezed up due to cooking grease and can be freed off with a dose of WD40 however it will sieze up again unless you strip it down to polish the shafts
Each oven has its own element.
Parts are available from Espares.
Ram ovens will be made by someone like Gorenge in Poland and badge engineered for the UK.
