Re: disk drive? lens?
This is either a worn dvd drive motor, or the magnet on top of the motor has come off, either will need the console stripping down and repairing or replacing,
If you are desperate to play, turn your console off,lie it flat, turn it on and give it a rap with your knuckles(don't go mad) about where the centre of the disk would be, it will eventually load.
Don't forget thumbs up if this works.

When the CD player loads properly and still reads as no disk this indicates that the player lens (Optical device which reads the disk information) Is either dirty or bad. The only option you have is to get a disk lens cleaner and run it on the system. Once you run it, it is supposed to work if the lens is not spoilt. Otherwise you will just have to replace the lens by taking it to a repairer. Hope this solution has been helpful?
Well you may be having disk tray issues, sure hope so as compared to a burnt out lens module, try ejecting the tray fully and wiping all dust off around the grooves under the tray, one more tip is to keep a disk in the drive at all times, even when you aint playing it, you can also try giving it a gentle tap on the front pat where the disk tray is located any time you eject it or push the tray back in, come to think about it if you are fond of pushing the tray in after inserting a disc, stop cos it weakens the motor that drives the ejecting process, hope this helps...
Your lens is dirty, very common and is considered routine maintenance.
3 ways to fix this.
1. Buy a CD cleaner, it is a cd that has little brushes on it that clean the lens as it spins. Can buy one for under $20
You will need a can of compressed air for electronics. Open up your cd
tray and pull the power from your 360. Push the tray half way in and
position the nozzle extender for the can of air right at the cd lens
and give it a few blasts of air. It may take a few times to get the
nozzle in the right place.
3. Disassemble your 360 (will void warranty) and take the DVD Drive out of it. After the drive is removed you can remove the cover to the
drive and manually clean the lens. Put it all back together and you are
back to playing games and reading disks.
The "open tray" option comes up when the console can not read the disk. If the disk is not scratched or dirty, then it is most likely your lens inside the console that is dirty.
Two easy methods to clean it are either use a cd cleaner(cd with brushes on it) or by using a can of compressed air to blow the dust from lens.
The lens is located inside the console beneath the game tray. Open you tray and pull the power to console, this will allow you to move the tray back n forth without it auto closing on you. When it is about halfway out you can get the extension to the air can right at the lens. A few shots of air and you are done.
Cleaning your lens is normal maintenance that is often overlooked.
Most disk read errors that are not caused by the disk itself are caused by having a dirty lens in the drive you put that disk into.
Two easy ways to clean that lens are either buying a cd lens cleaner (cd with brushes on the underside of it) or by using a can of compressed air to blow the debris off the lens.
If you go the route of compressed air in a can, there is an extension that comes with the can...it usually looks like a mini red sipping straw. You can reach the lens by open up the drive tray and pulling the power to the console when it is open. The reason to pull the power is that you can now move the tray halfway closed without it auto closing on you. When you have access to the lens from positioning the tray, stick the extension into your console and place it right at the lens and press the nozzle to spray the air. Do this a couple times and try reading your disk again.
If you don't have the tools to open your 360 go to best buy or an office supply store and get a can of compressed air and blow the dust out of the dvd drive. If that doesn't work then the lens needs to be cleaned with a q-tip and alcohol. This has worked for me on numerous occasions.
it might be the disk drive lens just inst reading. if you still have warrenty with microsoft call and tell them whats wrong. if not then it will be cheaper if you buy a new disk drive for your xbox 360 and have a game repair shop replace it or just take it to the game repair shop and they can tell you whats wrong for sure. but call microsoft first you have 3 year warrenty with microsoft depending around what time you purchesed your system.
1. Remove your burner from your computer then open it by removing the screws under the burner. 2. When the cover has already been removed, get a cotton bud then soak it in alcohol to clean the lens. Because the lens might just be dirty. Then after that put the cover back by screwing it again then install it back to your computer.
