Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

Won't pump out water for rinse cycle.this happened a couple months ago also, and a repair tech simply put a zip tie on a loose wire. I want to check that, but cannot get the control panel off so that I can take the cabinet case off. How do I get the top control panel off?

There are four screws on the back panel that need to come off.then the controll top lifts and or slide forward a bit and it can be removed.
the first thing i would do is use a wet dry shop vac and try and remove the water from the washer.
this particular model washer should have a direct drive drain pump and it is not electrical.
if the washer just kinda humms when it goes into the drain cycle then there is something blocking the pump.there may also be a problem with your lid switch.

IT ONLY DOES THE WASH MODE THEN IT STOPS. DOES NOT RINSE OR DRAIN WATER. I TOOK IT OUTSIDE AND THE WATER DRAINED THROUGH THE DRAIN HOSE. BOTH HOSES GOING TO PUMP ARE CLEAR. ANY SOLUTIONS????

Is this by chance a Whirlpool or Kenmore washer? If so, a frequent problem is the lid switch. It can either have a loose lid which allows the plunger that activates the switch, miss the switch when you close the lid, or you might have a bad switch. One of the things that I have done for several customers is to repair the switch with a plastic zip tie. What happens occasionally is that the switch will split along the seam where it is glued together and when the lid closes, the plunger pushes the two halves of the switch apart and does not make contact. Putting a zip tie around that switch will eliminate that problem and possibly fix your problem. The washer may think that your lid is still up and that could be why it does not complete the cycle. Hope this helps!

Washer will not rinse on any cycle


Well if it won't rinse it won't pump out wither right? The pump is mounted on the motor. The motor won't pump or spin if the lid is open. I would check the lid switch

When this pump is going counterclockwise the water stays put. The machine agitates.
When time for rinse the motor goes opposite direction. If the lid is open the washer will not spin or pump out. I suspect you must have a lidswitch issue. Here is a video which shows how to check it without guessingthemobilian_3073.jpg

How do you manually adjust the height on the float switch lock on a pacific hydrostar submersible pump Model 93820 - 1.2 HP


you have a float switch that has a lenth of wire. If you want to Lower the water take a couple of large zip ties and rap the around the motor. dont make it to tight because now come the adjustment. You take the foat and turn in upside down and hole it at the level yu want to water to be at. Take a second zip tie and rap it around the wire going to the float. so that were the tie that is on the motor lines up with the wire as it hangs down at the point you tie the second zip tie to the first and pull them both tight.

what you have done is shorten the wire to the float so that the pump turns on sooner than if yu were to let the flost extent the wire all the way out.

Won't drain from hose port


Either the hose is clogged or the hose connection and interior tubing is clogged. When this happens water is diverted to the bucket. Checking the hose is easy to do. If you find no clogs there, then the clog is in the hose connection on the unit and it's interior tubing.

Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection & tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the hose to the unit, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose end for water flow. It mat take 10 to 15 minutes for water to start flowing.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers

Sud--- what does that mean?


SUD-- means that the machine has detected too much soap during the wash cycle.

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.


Potential Causes

•If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/ Spin cycle then a Normal cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.

•Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked

•Check Wire Harness connections to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and

Central Control Unit (CCU)

•Check/ Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects

•Check Drain Pump

•Check the Pressure Switch

•Check CCU

Hi,

I think you have get air in the system, try to find a bellows pump or similary. Fill it with water, open the steam knob and take of the water tank, put the pump in the water inlet and press. When the water begins to flow, close the steam knob and put the water tank back.
