Sounds like a problem with either the idler pulley or the serpentine belt. If a belt is loose or worn it may slip when the alternator is working hard. Alternators work extra hard for several minutes after first starting the engine. They do that to recharge the battery after you've taken a lot of electrical energy to start the engine. The extra electrical energy is normal at startup, but if it's making a loud noise it is usually an indication of a loose belt or slipping because of a worn spring on the idler.

BTW, you posted this under Maytag washing machines; last I checked a Silverado isn't even closely related to a washing machine... just trying to help.

Front load washing machines are better than top load money wise.

the easyest way to find out the star rating is to try shopping for the item online if you find the product it will normally give you a breakdown of the benefits then you can compare them with other items for sale or other items you may be interested in, as for if the washer dryer would be more energy efficient you normally find combined machines have 2 ratings 1 for the dryer & another for the washine machine & depending which part of the machine you are using would determin the rating at that time if that makes sence.

I would you recommend you make a burial date for that machine. The best ones out right now are whirlpool, or one of their models like roper etc... just get the standard models. I do not recommend front load models. This goes the same for the Fridge. The better one out is whirlpool, maytag and the other models are having a bad compressor issues... let me know if i can be more assist to you.

you need to replace your water valve.

Whirlpool is good but Speed Queen is the best with the best warranty in the industry!

this could be either a bad pressure switch, located behind the control panel. it has a small usually black hose running down to the tub. more than likely since this is an older machine the hose has become worn in one spot and is leaking air. replace the hose and that shold do it. if not its the presasure switch.
