Question about Pioneer SD-533HD5 53" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Can't sem to get the PIP to work

I cannot use the PIP feature -- I have the direct feed from the wall into the cable converter box (cable in) then out of there (RF out) into the TV "A".
Is there something I am doing wrong, or it the problem with the cable box ?

In order to use the PIP feature, you Must have 2 different sources to view. Your current connections prohibit this. See if you can get say, a DVD or VCR connection going into the set also and you've got a fix!...accordianman

If your using a cable box it will not work, unless you get two boxes for that tv. You could get a cable splitter and have the cable box on one side and straight cable on the other side.

PIP does not work

The PIP can only use one tuner at a time, if one is on CATV, the other has to be on an AV input. you would need a catv box for the AV input for this to properly function.

You will need to run the setup to allow your converter box to detect your local channels. You may have a "Setup" button, or may have to get to it through a "Menu" button on the converter box remote.

Can't get second picture in Picture-in-Picture (PiP)

Watching two separate tv channels at the same time requires two tv channel sources,i.e. a split of some kind. For instance, the cable coming in thru the wall is split-half to tv or vcr/dvd combo and then to tv,the other half to cable box, then out to tv.If what I described fails, then you may have an actual tv failure.PIP video is generally a separate circuit from standard video. An expert tech w/service literature should be able to help. Let me know if you need more assistance.
