You can get the user manual on the manufacturers website
Here is:
http://www.ativasupport.com/product/?pid=AWGR54

All you need is :
1. Open up IE or Firefox. On address bar, type in "192.168.2.1" and click enter.
2. Ativa wireless setup should load up.
On top right, there is a Log In button.
If this is your first time login in, leave it blank and submit.

3. Check up on the following: a) Internet WAN > Connection Type > select Dynamic; b) Wireless > Channel and SSID > Disable ESSID Broadcast, also set wireless channel to AUTO; b) Wireless > Security > set up your security, use wep or wap or others

4. Now for the most important thing.
Click Firewall, and DISABLE IT!! By doing this, it said that you'll will be vulnerable to hacker etc...blah blah, but with security keys to access wireless and virus program/window firewall should be enough to make you stop worrying. Apply changes, then the thing restarts and you are good to go.

ok try this and let me know.
Any other help or clarification you are most welcome.
Cheers
Uttam

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Cant find PIN

if you dont know the pin you can put the CD in that came with your router.
if you lost it or dont have the CD then you can just setup the router manually by using your browset to http://192.168.1.1
login. the default login/pass is blank/admin
then go to wireless and choose manual.
this will let you set the SSID or name of your wireless network.
then you go to wireless security and choose WPA-personal
type in a passphase for your wireless password.
you will need to configure all your wireless devices to the new SSID wireless network you created and use the passphase you created to join the secured network.

Ativa router

ok, fine....

Reset the Ativa router to factory defaults. This is normally accomplished by holding the reset button down for 10 seconds or more with power on for most routers.

Once you do that, you need to connect the computer directly to the motorola modem and configure it to be in "bridge mode".

Putting your modem into bridge mode means to bypass the router function and make it work as a simple modem. And, yes, if you do that then you must configure your wireless router to make the internet connection. If you don't want to do that, you can leave the modem as it is, I think the Ativa wireless router can still work even if your modem is still in PPPoE & you can still configure the router as an ethernet switch & wireless access point.

Now you can connect the router (after powering EVERYTHING down), turn on the modem, wait for steady connect, turn on the router, wait two minutes, boot the connected PC.

After you get a wired machine connected, you can enter the Ativa setup and configure the wireless security.

Open up IE or Firefox. On address bar, type in "192.168.2.1" and click enter.

Ativa wireless setup should load up. On top right, there is a Log In button. If this is your first time login in, leave it blank and submit.

Check up on the following: a) Internet WAN > Connection Type > select Dynamic; b) Wireless > Channel and SSID > Disable ESSID Broadcast, also set wireless channel to AUTO; b) Wireless > Security > set up your security, you should know what to do.

Now for the most important thing. Click Firewall, and DISABLE IT!! By doing this, it said that you'll will be vulnerable to hacker etc...blah blah, but with security keys to access wireless and virus program/window firewall should be enough to make you stop worrying. Apply changes, then the thing restarts.

*** also leave MTU setting to 1454 & set it to auto connect; leave the DNS & MAC settings alone; also leave LAN settings as it is.

i would greatly appreciate if you could give me the modem's exact model no. (such as SB4200, 2100 etc.) and the router's as well....

Ativa router and at&t

there is a link in the motorola UI that allows it to be put in "bridged mode" so you can configure the router. however, before you do this, i suggest you have to make the motorola (is it 2100?) modem work with your computer, connect this modem to your computer using ethernet connection, access the UI (192.168.1.254), type your user id & password in the login page, then connect. make sure that you are able to connect to the internet. then access the UI again, click on "advanced" choose PPP location. in the PPP location page, click on bridged mode, that will restart the modem automatically, & you will notice the modem's internet light will turn off. then you can connect the ativa router to this modem using manufacturer's instructions. you can now login to the router's page and make the necessary changes.
