SOURCE: Memorex CD Clock Radio # 2863. Broken latch .. will not hold down top cover

Also have the same problem, clock sat on the night stand for a couple of years. Wife took into work to play CD's at the Christmas Party and the latch failed.

Think we may have used it once or twice as a CD player.

The black latch was easy to remove, justed open up the radio and pushed in the ears on the latch and it slipped back up into the CD compartment.

Will see if I can find something to repair it. Looked like the side cracked and a housing lost some of its side.

Changing rear door latch handle

Take the plastic cover off from the inside. Fairly easy, a few bolts and some plastic clips holding it on. You may be able to open it from the outside but you'll have to take the inside cover off to replace the handle anyway. This is a common problem and if you need more detailed instructions just do a search on the net.

Door will not latch

It is likely the latch itself is broken or else the machine is in the locked position. If the switch is broken, replace it. You can get one at repairclinic.com or partselect.com
If the lock is on, disconnect from power source (unplug machine) for few hours, press and hold start/cycle button for 3 seconds and wait half hour more and pllug back in.

2003 Ford Explorer back door latch will not open

Mine just did the exact same thing. The latch may be moving freely because it is not hooked to the latching mechanism anymore. In my case, the handle had broken where the handle hooks to the rod that operates the mechanism. Go to the Ford dealer and buy a new handle. Here in S.C. it was $24. You can't get this at the parts houses. Start by removing the plastic "Ford" cover that is over the liscense plate lights. You then have to remove the aluminum rivets that hold the handle to the tailgate from the outside and remove the broken latch. Remove the pull handle loop on the interior side of the tailgate (2 screws), unsnap the inside plastic tailgate interior panel, and pull down the black plastic sheeting that is underneath the panel to make access to the mechanism inside of the tailgate. There is also a hard plastic cover that you will see that needs to be pulled loose to open another access hole. Install the new tailgate latch handle by sliding back into the mounting holes and attach with two 10-32 screws and nuts. The new handle will come with a new yellow rod attachment piece on the handle. You will see inside of the tailgate a small rod hanging down, most likeky it will have the same rod attachment piece as the one on the new handle. Note the position of the yellow piece on the rod, as you will connect the new piece in the same place. Once the rod is hooked up, relubricate the metal mechanism with a light machine oil, replace the black plastic cover, replace the black plastic sheeting, (secure with a small amount of duct tape), replace the tailgate interior panel, replace the pull handle loop, shut tailgate, replace "Ford" cover over lights, and you're done!

Problem Printing

It appears you have a broken latch lock on 1 or both sides of the cover. There is nothing you can do settings wise. You will need to look into the printer for the broken section & probably replace the part(s) that are broken. I have a PDF file I can send you or you can download from Zebra.com RESOURCE LIBRARY section. The PDF is too large to post here. The latch is easy to replace if your slightly technical. Most replacement instructions are in the manual. Let me know if this helps.

There are actually two types of this latch available. Can you tell if yours has a switch in it? You can tell if you can see the bottom. The one with the switch has 2 wire tabs on it.
