Connect a laptop to the network switch where the CS9008 -1-U is connected and see if thge link is comming up or not

There are below reasons the link should not come up

    1. Speed is not matching/same configured on the both the end (CS9008 -1-U & the Network Switch port)

    How to solve 'error S01'?

    1. Verify USB cable is connected directly from USB port of printer and the USB port on back of computer. If not, connect directly to both the printer and computer and try to print. If the printer does not print, go to step 3.
    2. VERIFY THAT THE BROTHER PRINTER IS SET AS DEFAULT
This is especially important if you use the print icon to print from within applications. If the Brother printer is set as the default printer, it will have a check mark. If it is not set as default:
To set your Brother machine as the default printer, RIGHT CLICK on the Brother printer and select SET AS DEFAULT (PRINTER).
    3. VERIFY THAT THE PRINTER STATUS IS READY AND THE PRINT QUEUE IS EMPTY
    A. Click on START, RUN
    B. Type: CONTROL PRINTERS and click OK.
    C. Locate the Brother printer in the list and hover your mouse over the Brother printer icon. Below is an example of what you may see:
Status: Ready (Could also state: USE PRINTER OFFLINE or PAUSED)
Documents: 0 (Could be any number)
    D. If there are any documents waiting in the queue, right-click on the Brother printer and select CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS, depending on your operating system. This should clear the queue.
    E. If the status states: USE PRINTER OFFLINE, right-click on the Brother printer and select USE PRINTER ONLINE depending on your operating system. This should set the printer driver ONLINE.
    F. If the status states: PAUSED, right-click on the Brother printer and uncheck PAUSE PRINTING. This should allow the printer to resume printing.
    G. If the status is ready and no documents are in the queue, attempt to print the Windows test page. If not successful, verify the selected port. If USB is the selected port follow step 4. If USB is not selected, change the port to USB, then attempt to print the Windows test page. If not successful proceed to step 4.
    4. Turn the printer OFF.
    5. Close any open programs.
    6. Click Start, Run, type: control printers
    7. Right click Printer, left click Cancel All Documents (if available). Confirm if necessary (click OK).
    8. Right click Printer, left click Delete. Confirm if necessary (click OK).
    9. Left click File menu, left click Server Properties, left click Driver tab, left click print model name, left click Remove button, click Confirm.
    10. Close the Print Server Properties window to return Printers and Faxes window.
    11. Check that the USB cable is properly connected at both ends.
    12. Turn the printer ON.
    13. Wait until printer has ready light or green status, watch the Printers and Faxes window to see if printer is automatically reinstalled.
14.a. If printer was automatically reinstalled, right click Printer icon, left click Properties, left click Print Test Page button. If the printer is not automatically reinstalled, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437).
    b. If printer was not automatically reinstalled, try a new USB cable. Ifthe printer still is unable to print, call Brother Customer Service at1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437).

How do i set it up tryed everyting wont work even read d manual

Must not have either read or understood the quick setup. You plug the computer into one of the 4 ports on the router and set your network address to whatever it told you to use either 192.168.0. something other than 0 or 1 or 192.168.2.something other than 0 or 1. That gets you to the web based setup and you follow instructions from there including how you set it up to access your modem. If it's a cable modem, you may be able to use DHCP, but you might have to have the cable company send a "hit" to clear the equipment it was looking for. In a DSL modem, you may have to set up PPTP stuff, which is in the instructions from the cable company.

this settings should be type in to the settings on the router for static ip addressing..
    7. Once your done on the internet setting, go to your wireless connection settings and you can create a wireless network name or ssid, set a security by selecting wep, wpa, wpa2.
    8. once all is set. save the settings and to check if your laptop can access the wireless network that you did, turn on the wireless switch of your laptop, once its on, it will show the wireless network icon on the lower right of the taskbar, right click it and select on view available network, the network name that u did should list, just select it and connect and it will ask for the password, just type the password and connect, you should be connected to the wireless network and have internet access..
    9. If you are going to hook up your desktop to the wireless connection, you need to install a wireless network adapter, install the driver and do the same thing as u did to the laptop, for the desktop no need of turning on the wireless switch, once you install the driver correctly, it will show a network icon..
if you have any query pls feel free to get in touch.. good luck

My daugther gave me her old router Westell Model 327W . How can I do to be able to use it? she does not remember her passocode.

This product is a MoDeM / Gateway for ADSL you will need the DSL ISP provider to use this item and then they (the ISP) to activate the MoDeM's MAC Address. Once this is done there is a reset button on the back of the product. This button is inset to prevent it from being pushed in the normal operations of the unit. Push the button in with the end of a pen for 10 seconds and release and wait for the unit to re-acquire the information from the ISP. Don't forget to change the default security settings to prevent malicious intruders.

Part 1: Before You Start loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); You need the following: • A broadband connection to the Internet and the appropriate hardware. For example, cable-based Internet access that uses a cable modem that is provided by your ISP. • The Microsoft Broadband Networking Setup CD-ROM. • The Microsoft MN-500 Wireless Base Station. • The Ethernet cable that came with your base station. • The AC power supply. • The blank floppy disk.Check the following: • On computers that are running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP, you must be a member of the Administrators group to set up a network. If you cannot run Setup, click Log Off on the Start menu, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then log on with as an administrator. • Turn off any firewall or Internet connection sharing software on your computers. Your base station replaces these functions. The Setup Wizard cannot continue if they are enabled. • Do you have a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Internet connection or a static Internet Protocol (IP) address? The Setup Wizard prompts you to type your user name, password, and service name for a PPPoE connection. For a static IP address, you must have the IP, subnet, and ISP gateway addresses. If you have one of these types of connections, gather this information from your ISP.
Part 2: Install the Software and Connect the Hardware loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); 1. Insert the wireless base station Setup CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. If the Setup Wizard does not start automatically, click Start, click My Computer, double-click the CD-ROM icon, and then double-click Setup or Setup.exe. 2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. 3. In the second part of the installation, select the option to set up the wireless base station, and then continue through the rest of the Setup Wizard. 4. When the Setup Wizard instructs you to connect your wireless base station, position the wireless base station close to your modem and computer, and near the center of your intended network area. If you want to set up the wireless base station vertically, attach the included stand. 5. On the back of your computer, unplug the Ethernet cable that connects your computer to your broadband modem. Leave the other end of the cable plugged in to the modem. 6. Plug the cable in to the "To Modem" port on the back of the base station. The base station is now connected to your modem. 7. Plug one end of the blue Ethernet cable that came with your base station in to the Ethernet port that is labeled 1 on the back of the base station. Plug the other end into the Ethernet port on the back of your computer. This is the same port from which you just disconnected the modem cable.

Important The modem must use its original Ethernet cable or one of the same type to connect to the base station. 8. Plug one end of the power supply that came with your base station into the power jack on the back of the base station. Plug the other end into an electrical outlet. The power indicator light on the front of the base station should turn on. 9. Return to the Setup Wizard, click Next, and then go to Part 3 of this article.
Part 3: Configure the Base Station and Network Settings loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); Continue to follow the instructions on the screen to configure your wireless network settings: 1. Setup prompts you to enable wireless security (WEP). Microsoft recommends that you enable WEP. 2. Setup prompts you to save your network settings to a floppy disk for use in later installations. A blank floppy disk is provided for this purpose. If you do not save to a disk, you receive a list of network settings to print or write down. 3. Click Finish to exit Setup, and then remove the Setup CD-ROM from the CD-ROM drive and the floppy disk from the floppy disk drive. You can use the same CD-ROM and floppy disk to set up additional computers on your network.
Part 4: Test Your Network loadTOCNode(2, 'summary'); 1. View the status of your network in the Broadband Network Utility (BNU). Make sure that you can see your base station and the computer that is connected to it in the BNU status screen: a. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then double-click Microsoft Broadband Network Utility. b. View the information on the Network Status screen. 2. If your broadband Internet connection is being shared through your wireless network, start your Web browser program, and then try to visit a Web site. If your network is working properly, you have access to the Internet from the computer you just set up.
