Question about Hotpoint WMA76 Front Load Washer
I would not expect the brushes to be the cause of the problem in your case.
More likely to be a control board problem, or possibly the motor itself.
Check for loose or broken wires, plug in leads etc.
If it washes o/k, then unlikely to be a motor problem.
