Zen Vision M - Wont Sync All Files And Then Freezes??
Hi, my player has been acting up for the last few months, Ive managed to get it playing again by formating it and uploading the new firmware but when it was syncing all my music back on it stopped about a third the way through and froze. I had to reset it and Now when i try and sync it maybe puts one or two tracks on and the same will happen. Ive tryed my friends player (Zen vision exactly the same) and it syncs everything on perfectly and i have tryed it on two pc's.. I even have some albums on it that are missing songs?? I am very close to giving up as i dont have the patience anymore, please help!!!

Gently push the end of a thin object (such as a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole. The reset button for your player is located at the bottom of the player, to the left of the sync adapter port.
Refer to the article below to access the recovery mode and perform a Clean Up.
Clean Up scans a player\'s hard disk/memory card and removes any invalid links from the music library. It does not affect the working music files at all. It is recommended that you perform "Clean Up" first before formatting or reloading the player\'s firmware.
It is advisable for you to clean up your player regularly if you are frequently transferring files from you computer to your player or vice versa.
I've been able to solve the problem I had with transferring files to my Zen Vision M.
I uninstalled all components of Media Source 5 and Zen Vision M Series Explorer on my PC. I then reinstalled them again. I also rolled back to Windows Media 10 (as I recently upgraded to v 11) and unchecked Sync with Zen Vision M in tools/options/devices on WM player. I then run the Clean up in recovery mode on the Zen. When the PC restarts after the installation of the software it will ask for you to connect the player. The PC should now successfully transfer files to the player.
If that doesn't fix it trythe USB cable Screen Doesn’t come on anymore http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18859 If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
What you need to do is check the firmware. By doing so, set the device on "Disk Mode" and try to reinstall your firmware. Also make sure to back up all your files before doing so. If thats not the case, then it could be the battery life. Most of these reported cases all have to do with the battery performance. Freezing is the most common case of battery dysfunction. Make sure you get that checked out.
ZVM cannot handle the AC3 audio so the AVI files need to have mp3
audio. I have a lot of videos that I have converted over the years that
I want to play on the ZVM. In order to check compatibility I have been
using gspot. I just open the program, drag and drop the file, and get all the details I need in about 5 seconds.
