Question about GE GSS25JEMWW Side by Side

1 Answer

Water is not dispensing water. Ice maker is still dispensing.

I have check the dual valve in the back of the ref. and water is going thru it. Also checked the connection at the bottom front of the ref. and water is coming out there. The water is not coming out the dispenser and I can not figure out how to pull the dispenser out to see if it is clogged. Any help would be great.

I have the same problem with a GSS25TGMFWW side-by-side model. Spoke with a service man who said that more than likely the water line to the dispenser froze up. Don't know this could be since we use the water dispenser at least once a day. Any help would be appreciated. Email address is oherb@bellsouth.net.

I have a Kitchenaid model ksrk25 that the water dispenser does not dispense water and the ice maker that was working has stopped making ice

It is rare that both sides of the water control valve go bad at the same time, but possible. I will need someone to examine the dual water control valve on rear near floor on the back of your refrigerator. Click here for a=> KSRK25FVBL00 Parts Manual Test the dual water control valve with a multi meter set for 120 VAC and place the probes into the wires that attach to the dual water control dispenser side and have someone press the water dispense control in fountain. With the dispense water pressed look for voltage on your multi-meter. Use care not to touch probes or bare wires to prevent getting shocked while testing. If you do not already have Adobe Reader on your computer click here first=> Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) You can also check the water control valve for ice maker by testing the ohm value first by removal of the front cover on ice maker and then placing the test meter probes in to the N and V opening You should get 150 to 350 ohm's of resistance. Also if your ice maker is dry and has no water then fill with tap water and then allow to freeze. If Ice drops into ice bin and then does not refill with water will point to repacing the water valve. If the clip is not below this post click here=> Broken Ice Maker Repair You also can find parts and user manuals by clicking HERE Sometimes the ice maker is the problem with the water control valve not working on the ice maker side. 2198597 Ice Maker Assembly Watching the clip is really a great way of explaining how to test ice maker and replacing water control valve if needed. Ice maker will not work. Water is coming into the back of the refrigerator and water dispenses out of water dispenser. But no water will go to the ice maker.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Ice maker quit

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.

Frigidaire Model # GLRS267dzw2 ice maker isn't filling up with water too make ice.

As every technician knows , a water and ice dispensor refrig , has a dual water inlet valve . Just because the water dispensor works , does not mean the coil for the ice maker is working . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps the frozen cubes , but does not refil with water , check the fill tube inside the freezer , from the wall to the fill cup on the ice maker , to see if it is frozen . If so , replace the dual water inlet valve , due to seeping . This is not closing completely , and letting drips thru , which freeze inside the tube . If the tube is not frozen , then the water inlet valve is bad , not letting water thru to the ice maker .
If the ice maker does not dump the frozen cubes , then the ice maker needs to be replaced . Also check the coils under the refrig , to be sure they are clean of dust , lint , etc , as this will raise the temp above 5 degrees , which is the operating temp , for an icemaker .

Water leak from ice dispenser line

hi..
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

For the ice maker problem, Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear. If it does, the problem is the ice maker and not the valve and line...

Jenn Air fridge water dispensor stopped working

Hi: You press the switch and it makes a faint humming noise. That tells me the switch on the front panel is ok. The switch for the ice and water is actually on the bottom of the ref. The internal system of the ref is not under city water pressure. Ice is made so that's ok. There is a solenoid where the water attaches to the fridge down below which can fail. Just for giggles try tapping the switch with the plastic handle of a screwdriver. To loosen any scale that might have built up. As I'm unemployed also I'm giving you that trick. Otherwise I would just say replace it. I hope this helps, Jeff

Do you get water to the connector at the bottom of the freezer door ? if you do then the water pipe in the door is probably frozen - read new door ! if not then check thw electrical connector at the bottom of the freezer door as they have a habit of corroding.

Ice maker freezing up

If it is only the fill tube that is freezing up, or getting full of ice, than your water valve is leaking (letting drops of water thru to your ice maker and filling the icemaker fill tube up and freezing). If this is the case, replace the dual water valve (part # 1071263) located in the back of the refrigerator, just follow the water line from your wall into the refrigerator. Make sure you turn off the water to the refrigerator and also unplug it. The dual water valve is the one that has two water lines, one going to the icemaker and one going to the water dispenser. On this model, I think you only have one water valve. On some you have two, the primary water valve and a secondary water valve (the dual valve). If this is your case, I would highly recommend you replace both. As far as the Refrigerator side freezing things up, I think that is a whole different issue. Please post back.
