Question about Bosch 24 in. SGS47E02 Exxcel Free-standing Dishwasher
Our Bosch Exxcel Dishwasher has stopped producing hot water. It's just over 2 years old (if that) and has been trouble free up until now.
At the same time it stopped producing hot water, it also developed and issue where the wash cycle will run through it's setting OK (regardless of program selected) but wouldn't finish i.e it would get to the last minute and stay on (keep washing) indefinitely... until I either reset the program or, turned the machine off.
As this machine only takes a feed from the cold mains supply, I can only assume it's either software related (something's gone wrong with its programming) or, whatever hardware it uses to heat the water (like an element, or something) has packed up.
Is there a simple reset type function I can do to get this working again or, am I looking at paying to get a Bosch engineer in to replace something in the machine?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You will have to check the the temp sensor. if the temp sensor is ok.then the control panel needs to be checked. If the control panel does not see a temp sensor, it never turns he heater on. There is a thermostat on top of the water heater.
Is it being energized?
Turn off power at breaker and test the heater for continuity.
If it's open, the heater is bad.
if it shows continuity, you have to trace the control voltage. Taking apart a Bosch unit is TOUGH for gaining access to the heating element. Its a ral bear so I would advise getting a well Bosch versed guy in to do this replacement. Heating element Your dishwasher has an electrical heating element that helps to dry the dishes. If the element is burned out, the dishes won't dry properly, and you need to replace the element. Drying fan Many high-priced dishwashers have a small fan that blows air or heated air into the dishwasher to speed up the drying process. If the fan is defective, you need to replace it. Thermostat Some dishwashers have a thermostat that monitors the drying temperature. If the thermostat is defective, the heating element may not cycle on or off properly. If that's the problem, you need to replace the thermostat.
