After reinstalling my battery, the alarm, which the previous mechanic was supposed to have disarmed kicked in. He had disconnected the manual button. I found the wires wrapped under the dash, bared the ends and used them by connecting them at the appropriate time when trying the typical disable routine. Didn't work, no spark of any kind when they are touched.Cut he horn wires and reconnected the battery. The alarm light is flashing and clicking, can't start van. Please advise

How do I hard reset Quorum ELERT Portable Alarm? Any ideas?

To hard reset a Quorum ELERT Portable Alarm, you can try the following steps:
  1. Disconnect the power source from the alarm
  2. Remove the battery
  3. Hold down the "Reset" button while reconnecting the power source
  4. Release the "Reset" button
  5. Reinstall the battery
This should reset the alarm to its factory settings and erase any previous settings or configurations.
If these steps don't work, you should refer to the manual or contact Quorum's customer support for further assistance. It's also a good idea to check the manufacturer's website for updated information and instructions, as the process for resetting a device can change over time.

01 Xterra dead battery. Tried jump, when I turn key alarm goes off blocks starting. Fobs wont disable/unlock. Only gets power to anti-theft. *Alarm doesnt go off opening door only turning key to start

You could try disconnecting battery, leaving overnight and then inserting ignition key and switching on before reconnecting the battery.

It has sometimes worked for me but in reality it seems you probably have an alarm immobiliser fault you need specialist help with.

06 Ford Escape Hybrid. I didn't drive it and the battery died. Alarm settings are messed up need to reset to factory settings. Help!

I am not real familiar with Hybrids. In general, to go to a default setting you would disconnect the regular battery for at least 10 seconds and the systems should reboot. It does not cost to try this.

Disarming an Armed System/Silencing an Alarm
If system arming has been requested by the keyless entry transmitter, it must be disarmed.
Important: Using the power door unlock switch or manually unlocking the doors does not disable the CTD armed mode. Also, disconnecting the battery or pulling fuses does not disable the armed mode, since the BCM stores the CTD mode status in memory.
?€¢
To disarm the CTD system in arm pending mode, SECURITY indicator flashing and doors open, perform 1 of the following:

-
Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.

-
Insert a valid key into the ignition and start the vehicle.

?€¢
To disarm the CTD system in the armed mode:

-
Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.

-
Insert a valid key into the ignition and start the vehicle.

?€¢
To disarm the CTD system when activated, alarming mode.

-
Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.

-
Insert a valid key into the ignition and start the vehicle.

Replaced battery in my 1993 jeep grandcherokee limited now security system seems to cut fuel off seconds after engin fires

Here's some info as it sound like the theft deterrent is armed.

---
Reset Procedure

NOTE: This information applies to a Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) that was armed when the battery was disconnected and reconnected.

When the armed VTSS senses that the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it enters its power-up mode. In the power-up mode the alarm system remains armed following a battery failure or disconnect. If the VTSS was armed prior to a battery disconnect or failure, the system will have to be actively or passively disarmed following a battery reconnection.

The power-up mode will also apply if the battery goes dead while the system is armed and battery jump-starting is attempted. The engine no-run feature will prevent the engine from starting until the alarm system has been actively or passively disarmed.

Passive disarming of the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) occurs when the vehicle is unlocked using the key to unlock either front door or the liftgate. Active disarming of the VTSS occurs when the vehicle is unlocked by depressing the Unlock button of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.

Once the alarm has been activated (horn sounding, lights flashing, and the engine no-run feature), either disarming method will deactivate the alarm.

Depressing the Panic button (if equipped) on the RKE transmitter will also disarm the VTSS, but the horn will sound and the lights will flash for about three minutes as part of the Panic feature. The horn and lights can be stopped by pressing any of the RKE transmitter's buttons or driving the vehicle above 15 mph.
