Question about Paini Spa Rubinetterie LaToscana Ducale Thermostatic Shower Faucuet With Shower Head, Bronze

1 Answer

We have a kitchen mixer tap (Monaco, Paini S.P.A. Rubinetterie). The shower head has broken away from the hose i.e. the plastic thread at the base of the head that screws into the hose has broken. So we need a new shower head. Is there any chance such spare parts are available?

I have a bath shower mixer with a shower set. I cannot get water to come out of the bath tap, only for the shower head. The fitting in the middle if the taps will not stay down.

Go right away back for replace if there is warranty in between 8 days, if not then there should often a simple mixer maintenance set for sale for the brand and exact model mix faucet. often from simple plastic if its an older (mostly solid) mixfaucet then only to put it 24 hours in a bucket of vinegar or descaling agent.

I have a Paini La Toscana hand shower w/slide bar that I purchased and had installed about 4 years ago. The system works great except the hose has sprung a leak. Where can I purchase the 78" replacement...

I had the same problem appear after 3 years of use. I changed the hose (found on eBay, Chinese knock-off, brushed nickel sleeve) which gave up after 2 months. I think the problem is with the handle, giving too much back pressure. No hose will with stand that much pressure for too long. I changed the handle yesterday.

WATER IN TUB HOT, THEN TEMPERED

It sounds like you have an anti-scald mixer in the system that needs to be adjusted.

Water pressure to main hose has ceased, with water now pouring out of a small outlet pipe at bottom of unit next to fixing for main hose.

Sounds like your outlet at the top has clogged with grit/dirt. Turn the shower off, remover the entire shower head hose from its base (where it screws into the wall or pipe. Turn water back on. If you get a steady flow (as you should) the problem is isolated to the shower head/hose. Detach the shower head from the hose and clean the screen inside, attach hose back on first, try water again, if this flows then your blockage is in the head itself. After removing and cleaning the screen inside the shower head, reattach and run water, this should fix your problem, if not, you may need a new shower head. If the water will not flow to the outlet pipe alone, either your shower switch is broken or you have a serious plumbing problem.

Leak where Grohe shower head attached to the threaded pipe

Hello, Many shower heads have similar problems. (Very frustrating as you now know) The problem is the threads at the end of the (cheap plastic) shower neck are not flat. They are tapered (has an edge) - so it does not seat flush with the base of the shower head. Actually cuts around the rubber washer causing a leak.

What to do about it?

File the end of the neck some to create a flat surface. However, go slow. Be sure you can still screw on the shower head. Add a flat rubber washer in the shower head and plumbers tape on neck threads too.

Or Purchase a new shower neck that has a better design. The neck should unscrew from the front. Check and make sure you have an access behind the shower just in case you need to access the plumbing.

I replace the shower neck myself if there is an access.
