It's probably assembled ok. If you're trying to adjust the tension with the pressure foot up, it won't work. The pressure foot needs to be down in order to adjust the tension.
Let me know if this works, ok?

Breaking thread and under thread is loose

Is this happening when you are free motion quilting? Do you have the right needle size, thread.

If you are talking about the thread on the bottom of the fabric being loose it is actually the tension on the top thread. The tension is too loose. You might want to check and make sure it is threaded properly and that the thread is between the tension disks. The slightest thing off will make it not operate properly.

You need to relax and take your time learning your sewing machine. Once you do that you will immediately know what to adjust or check.

***Upper tension setting
*** Put the pressure foot up.
***As you are threading give little tugs to check for snags. Snags must be fixed.
***When finished threading (not the needle) put the pressure foot down.
***Check the tension by starting at zero and increase the tension slowly and give small tugs to see if the tension is rising. (This is all done without the needle being threaded)
***When you feel comfortable this is working then thread the needle and set the tension at four.
***Set the bobbin tension. Attachment gives instructions.
Now that all of the tension has been set you can try for

How can I get the monogram to work properly?

On my sewing machine that would be an indicator of misadjusted thread tension. Changing thread type or diameter generally requires tension adjustment. In this particular case, I\'d increase the bobbin tension a bit (if I understand your description correctly, the bobbin thread forms loose hoops), and back off on the upper (spool) tension (pulls too hard on the thread). On one or two of my bobbin cases, I had problems with the tensioner screw working loose during use. I put a dab of nail polish on the screw head to stick it to the bobbin case. Problem solved.

I\'m not familiar with your particular machine, but I don\'t see why you can\'t make the character any size above the minimum (which would be the smallest readable character that can be made with the stitch length and type used).

I have a brother vx-1125 the cotton keeps snapping..but the tension is correct..please advise..

The needle thread breaks
1. the needle thread is not threaded properly
2. The needle thread tension is to tight
3. The needle is bent or blunt
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted
5. The needle thread & the bobbin thread are not set under the presser foot when starting to sew
6. the threads were not drawn to the rear after sewing
7. The thread is either to heavy or to fine for the needle

Don't worry! I'll try my best to help out here. Problem is most likely in bobbin area. Remove bobbin, clean with brush to remove any threads caught in tension discs. Brush the feed dogs (teeth area under your needle plate).Rethread with presser foot in UP position so thread can locate tension slots. I recommend new needle and remember to push it up into needle bar shaft flat side back a's far a's it will go. Tighten needle clamp screw. That press foot must stay raised now while you insert needle And thread it. Tension: Set at 4. Just a very short turn of tension if 4 is not giving desired results. I hope this helps. It's probably very frustrating, I understand, but I know you can remedy this easily. Follow above steps SLOWLY! Jimmy
