Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

Screen on JTX V 5 monitor has gone so dark I can not see anything. Besides it flickers on and off in the dark .

The back light is failing, and possibly the power capacitors for the HT circuit are failing to store the voltage necessary to power the screen, which would explain the flickering. This needs tested by an expert in monitors and TV's to confirm the actual source of the issue

I have a microtech 21 inch lcd it flashes bios goes blank showes green light like it has a signal never reaches windowes

Power supply section will be the first place to check.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Speakers

After a quick look it seems that this monitor does not have built in speakers and you will need separate speakers.

I have a Sceptre X7G Komodo II 17" LCD monitor/built-in speakers

You would need to connect the speakers to your computer. There should be a little jack on the back of the monitor marked audio. This will need to be connected to your soundcard jack for front speakers. Once this cable is connected you should have sound from your speakers. Hope this helps.

No sound coming from speakers.

Did you run the audio cable from the computer to the monitor. If not you must have that for the speakers to work. If yes can you verify computer output with another pair of speakers to narrow it down to computer or monitor. If it is the monitor built in speakers that are the problem reply and we can go through a procedure to get them working.

Horizontal setting is Out

Once you're ruled out your PC and video card by trying a different monitor, I would suspect the problem is a bad video / signal board inside the monitor. If so, it needs component-level electronic troubleshooting to locate the bad part(s).
