I have a GE WPSR3100W2 that will not automatically go into spin cycle, I can advance the timer and it will spin out.

    It will pump out, I will check on the price of a timer, the washer is quite a few years old.

Bad timer if it stops after rinse. Does the water pump out. If not you may have something in pump.

!st, check the timer to see if it is working properly
if not replace it '
next make sure that you are getting cold water and it is getting adequate pressure.:

there are contacts inside timer which may not be working properly. in any case they are not repairable.

Machine will not automatically advance thru cycles

The timer has a motor used to advance it through the cycles. If the machine fills with water and the timer stays in one position no matter where you put it......even in the spin cycle, then replace your timer.
