Once the Green light comes on, blinks then turn off after few seconds and there's no picture or sound, then you've got a defective power supply unit.

They also called it the Main Logic Control Board. Please check the link below so that you could see the picture and price of the board:

Hi,

I Suspect Power Supply Board.Open the TV and look for Power Supply Board. Once you find the Board, Pull out the Connectors. Take the Board out. With the help of magnifying glass, you need to check Cold Solder Joints. If not, then Check the Caps and Fuses. I imagine, if this could be due to Power Shut Off, you would be able to Find Some Bulged / Swelled / Leaked Caps. You would smell Ammonia kind of odor. You need to pull them out. Order the same Caps online or go to Radio Shack. It would cost you few bucks, in fact less than 20 bucks. Once you get the Caps, solder them and it is all set.

Note - You need to take all the Precautions as this would involve Voltage.

Let me know, if problem persists so that we could further troubleshoot.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Green light comes on no picmor sound

Hello Afox5, hi, make sure that there are no user controls or setup that are out of order. as a backgrounder, TV of this type mostly has two boards, power supply and main board. On the power supply board, this has two section, primary that deals with mains voltage and secondary that deals with TV supply current requirements, if you see green light mean that power on the secondary section of the power supply board of your TV is working, but it does not mean that the power supplied to the main board is correct, the supplied current produced by the power supply section to the main board that controls sound and picture needs to be checked, so voltages are needed to be checked and loose wiring, or screws needs tightening, are a common trouble, but some go to extremes like replacement of any boards.

My picture stays black and and have no sound. The green light comes on. i took the back off and there is a green light that is flashing when youn turn it on. Help. Warranty is out!

This happens very often with these TVs. For what it's worth, you can download the official Sanyo repair manual for this TV (DP42746) at http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/43343/sanyo_dp42746.html. I uploaded it here when I had the same issue with my TV last year. The solution is almost always to replace the Power Board (Y-Main) and the Upper and Lower Y Buffers. The parts and costs (from Sanyo in July 2009) are listed below (NOTE: Sanyo will not ship these parts to anyone but a repair shop): 1. V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01200A, Alt Part # LJ41-02759A) - USD $139.00
2. Upper Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01202A, Alt Part # LJ41-02760) - USD $64.00
3. Lower Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01203A, Alt Part # LJ41-02761A) - USD $64.00
Sanyo charges USD $10.50 for shipping, which brings the total cost for parts to USD $277.50. From my research, a shop would probably charge between USD $500 and $700 to do this repair. FYI - there is a class action lawsuit pending against Sanyo for this issue. The V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Boards fail VERY frequently in this TV due to overheating. Hope this helps.

Our sanyo dp42746 went black made a pop sound and would not turn back on no power light or nothing

Most likely a power supply board went bad. the pop sound is bad capacitor on the board. Most bad capacitors will look like this: 18976c2.jpg
The other picture below shows a normal capacitor in the middle, but two bad capacitors on the sides of it. One with the dome top and one leaking. 5d53c3a.jpg

You can try repairing the board by replacing the capacitors or replace the whole power supply board. Most replacement boards can be found at a good price at Shopjimmy.com or Ebay.

No video but audio is fine on Sanyo 42" DP42746 TV

If you unplugged the Ysus board, then you need to replace the Ysus board, or both sustain boards. This is the part: The part is often available on Ebay, or from manufacturer. Look also at Vance baldwin or Partstore. To do a good job the Sustain boards should be tested by a tech , following service manual. It is almost for sure sustain board by the way.

Replace the y-main board and the upper and lower buffer boards. 300.00 from Sanyo. Install them your self or get someone technically minded to do it for you. It worked for me. It's been 6 months and the t.v. is still going strong.

Dead relay(?) on dp42746 is this common.

Ok Fellas I found the Problem!
The Problem is the V4 Y-Main Board. This board is located on the left side of the case looking upright from the back. I spoke with may suppliers, and Sanyo all confirming this. Apparently it has been an issue for some time. Sanyo has replaced the V4 Y Main board with a W1 Y main board in newer models. The W1 Board is NOT compatible for us tho. Just to be sure... If your T.V is taken apart (like mine) Disconnect the peripheral cable from the V4 Y Main, and turn on the set. I bet it will power up with audio and channel function just NO picture. When you plug the board back in... POOF set shuts down. Replacement boards are VERY hard to come by. So Happy Hunting!

42' HD V4 Y-MAIN
PCB: LJ41-02760A LJ41-02761A LG92-01200A BN96-03352A

Oh yeah.. just FYI, Sanyo, Phillips, and Samsung all use the same parts. Hopefully that will help your searching.
