Hi, I am hoping that you can help. Having recenly moved our home office to a difference room in the house our laptop is now suddenly not connecting to my Zoom X6 wireless router. I have tried re-installing the software, however it then just tells me that it cannot detect the Zoom modem! I have however had some internet access for about 30 seconds today but then it decided to go back to not working again. When I can see Zoom in a list of wireless connections it advises that it is an usecured network, but when trying to connect it wont allow. Please help, as I simply dont know what else to try. Many thanks in advance. Mark. NB: The DSL light is flashing all the time and the internet light is off.
If the Internet light is off it means you are not either authenticated at your provider or your configurations are wrong on the modem. If you go to your command prompt and type ipconfig and check your IP address and your default gateway. The IP address on your default gateway would be your router put that IP address on your browser and should be able to see your modem setting and any error messages that could help resolve your issue

is it wireless connection or ethernet? Zoom routers have a firewall and when you have something connected that the firewall doesnt like (Xbox 360 or Gaming) it will drop the connection. goto zoom.com/x6 and it will give you instruction on how to by-pass the firewall using an different IP address.
Here are a couple of ideas to look at first, assuming you haven't tried them already:
1) Does moving the router help? Sometimes a new DECT phone or a microwave, or even a piece of equipment at a neighbour's house, can interfere with the signal.
2) Does changing the channel on your router help at all? If there are many other networks using the same channel, this might block your own signal.
3) If this does not make any difference, it might be worth checking your security settings.
you need a ethernet network card, if you want it connected to the x6 directly, or you can get a wireless card for the desktop.
the instruction for setup the x6 is straightforward. but you need to follow it to the letter, otherwise it won't work.
If the Internet is red, this may be because of problem with authentication. Please pull the configuration page of modem and check whether the username/password are correct.
the internet light, is usually a blinking green, showing that it's seeing the internet signal. The only reason it's red, is cause there's no net signal..double check the phone line going into the back of your router, and change it if you need to. check your computers warranty here 4 FREE
presuming that the router moved with you the telephone line socket could be too far away from the BT socket or is not correctly wired. if you have not moved the router then you need to buy a booster
The wireless is disabled either on your laptop or on modem. Here is quick guide of your modem that may help if it does not please let me know where is the problem and tell me what laptop do you have.
