Scrolling Line Propblem

I just recently purchased a Samsung Television. The model number is LNT4661F 46" LCD HDTV. I've notice a purple line that keeps scrolling horizontally across the screen. What can be done/adjusted to eliminate it? It is very disctracting. Is this a defect?

I actually exchanged it for a new one and the problem still exists. Is this a common problem with the unit?

No it isn't. Are you currently using a HDMI cable?

You have a ground loop problem. Buy an adapter that lifts the round ground prong and poof, clean picture.
P.S. Or fix the grounding. More than likely two different ground potentials between Cable/Sat and house ground.

I have a similar problem. It is some sort of electrical interference problem(I think). Do you have a dimmer switch on the same circuit?

LNT4661F tv black shadow on left won't go away been told its the back panel does this make sense?

Hi most likely yes it is your panel. However there is a chance that it could be your t-con board. I would say 80% Panel 20% chance that it might be your t-con board. The T-con board is fairly inexpensive compare to teh screen so I would give it a try first.

Screen will periodically go half black. Then it goes back to normal. Or the black slowly creeps up from bottom of screen.

A black image appears and goes away every once in awhile. you can still see the picture but the part that has dark image looks all ugly.

When you have video display problems such as shadows and lines that go away after warming up, or come and go during viewing, it is usually the LVDS cable and T CONN board going bad. The screen can have one of the following or combinations of blurs, different layers of brightness and lines. It could be the backlight but most of the problems with the LNT4661F have been this.

I had the shadow and line problem and replaced both the cable and board for $120 and that fixed my problem. The TV was only 18 months old. Since I had the TV apart, I went ahead and replaced the capacitors on the power supply board so I wouldn’t run into the clicking problem that also affects this model TV. You can find the parts numbers for the LNT4661F cable and board below. You can find links to YouTube ( Part 1 & 2) to show how to replace the capacitors. Good luck.

Since your set is a month old and in warranty, I suggest calling 1-800-Samsung and set up a repair appointment for a Samsung Field Engineer to come out and diagnosis the problem as the cause can be caused by a number of parts.

Mitsubishi 46in. LCD

The TCON board at the top of the panel is causing the issue. You will need to replace the whole panel.

When the set warms up, the TCON behaves. Replace the panel now to avoid what will eventually become a permanent line (if not several)

Unplug for 30 seconds from it's power source and then try it again. If that doesn't work, call Samsung for further troubleshooting and have your model number and serial number handy. Please be prepared to tell them how long the line is.

LN-T4665F 46 in. LCD- Black Line across screen

The set is under a year old and is under warranty. The LVDS cable inside these sets have a history of coming loose. The problem could be the panel. Either way, the set is the problem and needs to be looked at. This set is worked on in the home and does not need to be taken to a shop, so, you can still use it. Contact Samsung at: 1-800-SAMSUNG Hope this helps.
