I start to get that problem. There's a few things to avoid this problem. 1 is to switch it on for about 30 second before taking any picture. and 1 or 2 pictures at high exposure then take another and lower and another at lowest. let it forcus a couple times in low exposure and turn ti back to normal exposure and took your picture

Camera is ok but when i take a picture there are some lines visible on the picture. how to set the camera without those lines

Are the lines on the picture when you print or view on the camera? If so then the caera is faulty. If not then go into your main menu ans search for your grid options. Turn them off or change them to something you can tolerate. Good Luck!

Picture has lines

You could go to www.vivitar.com
go to their support area, scroll down to your camera model and download the latest driver. If you do not know how to do this, let me know. Good luck.

P5100 Nikon

I have the same problem as you... Nikon acknowledges that they have this problem on other Coolpix models, see: http://home.nikon-asia.com/pagearticle.php?pageid=43-7cc915b40d

Now, how do we get Nikon to acknowledge that this is a problem on the 5100 as well?

When i take pictures...the pictures has lines...

If the pictures are comming out with the lines and are blury, the CCD unit in the camera isn't working. If the pictures are fine than the LCD display on the back of the camera is going out.

Either way this should be looked at by a camera shop of at Best Buy.

Photos have horizontal lines

Ok, first of all......when you transfer the pictures to a computer are the blue lines still in the picture? Also if you reset the camera does the image still come out white?

A lot of times what happens is that there is nothing wrong with the actual picture it is the lcd. When you transfer the picture it looks ok you are only seeing the blue lines on the lcd. That means that the lcd is going out. If you transfer the picture and the blue lines are still in the picture after transfer then we can try to reset the camera as there is something else going on besides the lcd. More that likely it is just an lcd that needs to be replaced.

With a white image that usually means that the white balance is off on the camera. I would recommend resetting the camera and then try retaking some pictures to see if they are still coming out white. If they are then you would have to send the camera in to be repaired.

Black smudge line on every digital picture.

It sounds as if you have some sort of foreign object somewhere in the optical path. Check the lens for any obvious signs of dirt, but failing that, it will need to go to a camera specialist for a proper clean. I would not recommend taking it apart and trying it yourself!

White lines when you take photos in light, but perfect in the dark

The problem lies in you camera's CCD unit which is located on the back of the lens held on be 3 small screws it could also be a setting in the camera's menu try going into the menu and reseting the camera to default it works some times if that does not work than you need the ccd replaced pretty easy fix I fixed 1 with the same problem about two weeks ago for someone it happens I hope this helps you out.
