Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
Make sure the door lock light is on! as if the door does not lock and the machine sees that properly it will not spin..
second, make sure that all the water is being pumped out of the unit. if the unit senses excessive amp draw thru the pump it assumes there is still water in the unit and will not enter the high speed spin cycle. the pump may be partially cloged, or have foreign material wound around the motor armature shaft causing the problem.
if you remove the kick plate below the door there should be a technician data sheet (do not loose this and return it to the envelope when done) stuck to the side of the interior of the unit. this sheet will or can walk you thru diagnostics to further help you determine whether the motor or motor control board is bad if neither the door latch or pump are the culprit..
best of luck, and have fun,
